Séminaire sur la santé des seins
Ne manque pas la toute première séminaire sur la santé des seins du Weekend pour vaincre le cancer du sein. Carole Séguin, infirmière clinique à
l’HGJ, au Centre du sein Joel et Marlene King, sera la conférencière invitée.
Elle offrira de l’information concernant la détection précoce et le diagnostic
du cancer du sein; également, elle répondra aux questions concernant la
santé mammaire.

Week-end pour vaincre le cancer du sein
L’équipe de la Fondation de l’HGJ invite le personnel hospitalier, ainsi que
les bénévoles, à joindre son équipe « Le don de guérir ». Pour plus
d’information, veuillez communiquer avec Bev Kravitz, au poste 4123.
Encouragez l’équipe « Le don de guérir » en achetant des plaques
d’identification (5 $), des aimants pour la voiture (5 $), des lanières à mettre
autour du cou (5 $), des petites serviettes (5 $) et des tablettes de chocolat
(3 $). Vous pourrez vous procurer ces items, le 23 mai entre 9h et 15h, au
kiosque du WVCS, situé à l’entrée de la rue Légaré, ou au bureau de la
Fondation (A-107).
Atrium à la carte
Un chariot offrant sandwiches, pâtisseries, boissons, café et bien plus encore
est maintenant disponible sur le septième étage du Pavillon E. Ce service est
offert du lundi au jeudi entre 11h30 et 13h30.
Libéré du tabac : une célébration !
Le Centre de prévention du tabac présente, « Libéré du tabac :
une célébration ! » un panel discussion, et une célébration,
avec des diplômés du Programme de cessation du tabac du
Centre de prévention du cancer.
Cet événement permettra aux fumeurs, non-fumeurs et ex-fumeurs
d’en savoir plus sur les aspects psychologiques et physiques de la
dépendance à la nicotine; les effets néfastes de la fumée secondaire;
l’impact du tabac sur la santé du cœur; les ramifications légales de
la nouvelle loi anti-tabac du gouvernement provincial; et les stratégies efficaces pour se débarrasser de cette mauvaise habitude. Entrée libre.

Weekend to End Breast Cancer
The JGH Foundation’s Weekend to End Breast Cancer team,
“The Power to Heal”, invites all interested staff members or

magnets ($5), lanyards ($5), tea towels ($5) and chocolate bars ($3), at the

Atrium à la Carte
A coffee cart service is now available on the 7th floor of Pavilion E. The
cart offers sandwiches, pastries, drinks, coffee, and more between 11:30
a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Celebration: Freedom from Smoking!
The JGH Cancer Prevention Centre presents “Celebration:
Freedom from Smoking!” – a free panel discussion and
celebration featuring graduates of the Cancer Prevention
Centre’s Smoking Cessation Program.
The event will enable smokers, non-smokers, and ex-smokers
alike to learn about the psychological and physical components of
nicotine addiction; the harmful effects of second-hand smoke; the
impact of smoking on cardiac health; the legal ramifications of
Quebec’s new anti-tobacco law; effective smoking cessation
strategies that can help people kick the habit.

Montreal Israeli Theatre
The Montreal Israeli Theatre is proud to present its first major production,

Join JGH Jazz!
JGH Jazz is back! The 2006 JGH Jazz Festival runs from June 27 to July 7.
We are always on the lookout for musicians and performers who would like
to share their music and talent with patients and staff. Staff members
wishing to perform are invited to call Bryan Highbloom at local 2895.
Equipment and back up musicians will be provided for solo performers.
Afternoon services
Jewish minha (afternoon) services continue to be held regularly in the JGH.
If you can spare a few minutes, your participation would be greatly
