Le Côlon Gigantesque rend visite à l’Hôpital général juif
Un projet de sensibilisation sur le cancer colorectal
Le Côlon Gigantesque, un projet à la fois farfelu et éducatif qui pourrait
sauver votre vie, sera dévoilé à HGJ. La Division de chirurgie colorectale de
l’HGJ vous invite à cet événement qui se tiendra du 19 au 21 septembre.
Long de 40 pieds et haut de 4 pieds, le Côlon Gigantesque, une réplique du
côlon humain, a été conçu dans le but d’éduquer le public à la cause du
cancer colorectal. À quatre pattes, il sera possible de se promener dans le
Côlon Gigantesque et de visualiser des exemples de tissus de côlons en
santé, de quelques maladies non-cancéreuses du côlon, de polypes et des
divers stades d’un cancer colorectal.
L’événement de sensibilisation est gratuit et ouvert au grand public. Cet
événement comprend la présence du Côlon Gigantesque, une visite de la
mascotte Polyp Man, et divers kiosques d’information. L’événement aura
lieu dans l’Auditorium Pav. A. Des chirurgiens de la Division de chirurgie
colorectale de l’HGJ seront présents pour répondre à vos questions
concernant la santé colorectale et le dépistage. Des conférences gratuites
pour le grand public sont aussi au programme dans l’Amphithéâtre Block:

The Colossal Colon visits the JGH
to raise awareness about colorectal cancer
The Colossal Colon, a wacky but educational event that
may just save your life, is making its Canadian debut at
the JGH from September 19 to 21, hosted by the
Division of Colorectal Surgery.
The Colossal Colon is a 40-foot long, 4-foot tall, crawl-through replica of
the human colon designed to educate the public about colorectal cancer. It
includes examples of healthy colon tissue, several non-cancerous diseases
of the colon, polyps, and various stages of colorectal cancer.
The event is free and open to the public, featuring the Colossal Colon, a
visit from Polyp Man (the event’s mascot) and various information booths.
The event will take place in the Pav. A Auditorium. Surgeons from the
JGH Division of Colorectal Surgery will be available to answer questions
about colorectal health and screening. Free public lectures are also
scheduled to take place in the Block Amphitheatre:

Segal, a été un succès retentissant en amassant 9.2 millions de dollars, pour
la recherche, le traitement et la prévention du cancer du sein.

The inaugural Weekend to End Breast Cancer benefiting the Jewish
General Hospital’s Segal Cancer Centre was a resounding success, raising
$9.2 million for breast cancer research, treatment and prevention. You did

Calendrier pour vaincre le cancer du sein
Même si l’édition 2005 du Week-end pour vaincre le cancer
du sein est du passé, le combat contre cette maladie continue.
Le calendrier pour vaincre le cancer du sein est encore en
vente, au coût de 10 $. Il contient des conseils pour prévenir le cancer du
sein et des faits relatifs à la recherche sur le cancer. Le calendrier qui
couvre les mois de juillet 2005 à décembre 2006 est en vente au site

Marche du Souvenir
Le Groupe Alzheimer Inc. et la Société Alzheimer de Montréal vous
invitent à la Marche du Souvenir 2005 au profit de la clinique de la mémoire de l’HGJ et du Centre McGill d’études sur le vieillissement. La

Tournoi de hockey marathon Lila Segal
Ne manquez pas le premier Tournoi de hockey marathon Lila Segal en
appui au Programme de réadaptation pour les problèmes de nutrition reliés
au cancer (PRPNC) de McGill à l’HGJ, le 10 septembre de 10h00 à minuit
au Complexe hockey Bonaventure situé au 6605 boul. Côte de Liesse, St.
Laurent.
Quarante-huit joueurs participeront à ce tournoi ininterrompu, chacun

Even though the 2005 Weekend to End Breast Cancer is history, the battle
against the disease goes on. “The Calendar to End Breast Cancer” is still for
sale for $10 and contains cancer prevention tips and facts about cancer
research. The July 2005 – December 2006 calendar can be ordered online at

Memory Walk
The Alzheimer Groupe Inc. and Alzheimer Society of Montreal present the
2005 Memory Walk to benefit the JGH Memory Clinic and McGill Centre
for Studies in Aging. The 5 km walk takes place on Sunday, September 25

Lila Sigal Marathon Hockey Tournament
Don’t miss the first annual Lila Sigal Marathon Hockey Tournament in
support of the JGH-based McGill Cancer Nutrition – Rehabilitation Program (CNRP). The event takes place Saturday, September 10, 2005, 10 am
to midnight at the Bonaventure Hockey Rink - 6605 Côte de Liesse Blvd,
St. Laurent.
Forty-eight players will participate in this non-stop tournament, with each
