LA CAISSE POPULAIRE DE TIGNISH
Les Caisses populaires dépendent sur les efforts de beaucoup de bénévoles. Pour ceux qu’on servi les
communautés, chaque année nous vous invitons pour faire des nominations pour “le Membre de la Caisse
populaire de l’année”. Vous pouvez aller chercher les fiches d’applications aux bureaux de Tignish ou
Alberton, pendant les heures de travail. La date limite pour les nominations sera le vendredi 26
octobre à l’heure de fermeture. S’il-vous-plaît aidez-nous à reconnaître quelqu’un.
TIGNISH CREDIT UNION
Credit Unions depend on the volunteer efforts of many people. To recognize those who have served our
Communities well, each year we invite your nominations for “Credit Union Member of the Year”. Complete
guidelines and application forms can be picked-up at the Tignish or Alberton office during normal business
hours. Deadline for nominations is closing time on Friday, October 26th. Please help us recognize a
worthy volunteer.
OCTOBER FEAST
The Miminegash Firemenettes will be having an October Feast on Sunday, October 21st starting at 5:00
p.m. at the Palmer Road Community Centre. The cost is $10 per person. All money raised will go towards
the Miminegash Firemen Equipment Fund. Tickets can be purchased at F.J. Shea & Sons, in St-Louis, or
from any of the Firemenettes. Come out to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a great cause! Thank
you for your support.
BINGO D’AUTOMNE ET HALLOWEEN
Le Centre l’Arc-en-ciel organise un bingo familial comme levée de fonds le dimanche 21 octobre à 18h00

FALL AND HALLOWEEN BINGO
Le Centre l’Arc-en-ciel, preschool centre, is organizing a family bingo as a fundraiser for the Centre on
Sunday, October 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest. The cost is adults $10,
students $5, and children ages 5 years and under $2. Come out for a chance to win some nice prizes.

ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTRE
On Sunday, October 21st at 7:30 p.m., music by Linda Costain and Girls. Admission is $5.
Jams every Thursday at 8:00 p.m.
On Sunday, October 28th, music by Raymond Perry and Friends at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Please
come out and have an enjoyable night of music. Proceeds for the up-keep of the Centre.
COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
• Tignish Municipal Election: If you are a resident of the Community and interested in getting involved
in Municipal Government or you know of someone who would be a good candidate for your Community,
you can pick up a nomination paper at the Municipal Office or e-mail Karen at
[email protected] to have one sent to you. Nomination paper must be received on or before
4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22nd at the Municipal Office, 209 Phillip Street.
• A Public Meeting is called for Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office. The
purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments regarding an application received from Ruby Greenan
and Michelle Perry of Cousins’ Restaurant to rezone PID No. 400200 from Residential to Commercial.
LIBERTY PALMER ROAD AL-ANON

CREDIT UNION ARENA
With the help of many individuals and businesses and the matching program from the Tignish Credit Union,
we have lowered the Arena's Construction debt to $55,223. Thank you all! The Arena's 50/50 Toonie
Draw will continue through the winter. You can pay your Toonie weekly at four locations: the Arena,
Tignish Co-op Store Lunch Counter, Royal Star Foods Stock Room, and F.J. Shea's, in St. Louis. New

ADULT EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS/GED COURSES
Do you need a grade 12 diploma or are you short of a high school credit such as Math, English, Biology,
etc.? Then, we are here to help you! High school credits/GED are available starting now at Holland
College West Prince Center, in Alberton. Full-time day classes are offered Monday to Friday from 9:00
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or part-time night classes on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Full time GED instruction starts on November 5th at the Alberton Center and January 2, 2013 at the
Dalton Center, in Tignish. There is NO COST TO YOU. Start when you are ready. Learn at your own
pace. For further information, please call 853-0024 and ask for Tammy or drop in to Holland College
Alberton to check things out.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a non-profit organization to help you lose weight. Whether you have 10
pounds or 100 pounds to lose, come learn how to lose weight sensibly and have fun doing it! We meet
every Tuesday, with weigh-in from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m., at the Tignish
Medical Centre. Please enter through the back entrance. Cost is $32 for the year and $2 every week.
NOMINATION FOR COUNCIL
The municipality of St. Louis is accepting nomination for Council. Anyone interested in putting their name
forward can contact Linda McCue at 882-2447 or Juanita Gaudet at 882-2178. All names must be
submitted by October 22nd. On Wednesday, October 24th, a special election meeting will be held at
7:00 p.m. at the St. Louis Community Centre.

♥ There will be a Bra Clinic held on Thursday, October 25th at 10:00 a.m.
♥ Dr. Sethi will be holding office hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Tignish Health Centre from

YARD SALE
There will be a yard sale at the St. Louis Community Centre (upstairs) on Friday, October 26th from 6:30
p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Anyone wanting to book a
table can call 882-3056 or Wilma at 882-3518. Cost is $5 per table. There will also be tickets sold on a
Simon & Patrick Guitar valued at $400 that will be drawn on June 30th, 2013. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for
$10.
HALLOWEEN DANCE
Old Doctor Young will be playing at the Palmer Road Community Centre from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on
Saturday, October 27th for a Halloween dance. The judging of costumes will be held at 11:30 p.m.
Admission is $7 a person. All 19 years and older are welcome. Come on out for some spooky fun for
Halloween!
TIGNISH C.W.L. ANNUAL BAZAAR
This year’s Annual Bazaar is on Sunday, October 28th at the Tignish Parish Centre from 12:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m. Hot turkey dinners will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with take-out available. There
will also be a bingo, bazaar table, bake table, cake sale, lotteries, card games and other various games.
Children Halloween activities such as face painting, Halloween manicures, cookie decorating, pumpkin
decorating, crafts, and coloring will take place between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Children dressed in
costumes will receive a treat. All are encouraged to attend.
TURKEY SUPPER
The Sacred Heart Parish, in Alberton, is hosting a turkey supper on Sunday, October 28th. Take-out
meals will be available for pick-up between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sit down meals will be served from
4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children. You can purchase your ticket
by calling Jean Cahill at 853-2884, Ann Weeks at 853-2072, or Mona Broderick at 853-2721. All tickets
are pre-sold.
ST. ANTHONY’S HAM & BEAN SUPPER
On Sunday, November 4th, come enjoy a delicious ham & bean supper from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the St.
Anthony’s Parish Hall. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
