IWK FESTIVAL IN THE PARK
IWK Festival in the Park will be held at the Bicentennial Park Sunday, May 26th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. Rain location will be the Credit Union Arena. Some of the activities include: music by Rodney
Arsenault, Daniel Drouin, and other local singers, 50/50, raffle tickets, quilt tickets, barbecue, Cavendish
Farms fry cart, candy apples, fudge, face painting, helium balloons, games, inflatables, teddy bear clinic,
and more. Horse Pull start time is 1:30 p.m. behind the Bicentennial Park. Come out and join in the fun
and help support this worthy cause!

ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTER – NIGHT OF MUSIC
 Music at the St. Louis Community Center on Sunday, May 26th, at 7:30 p.m. featuring Linda Costain &
Girls and Raymond Perry & Friends. Admission is $5. Light lunch will be served.
 On Sunday, June 2nd, at 7:30 p.m. entertainment at the St. Louis Community Center by the Helping
Hands Band.
 Tickets are now available at the Center or at F.J. Shea & Son for the Festival of Small Halls that will
take place on Wednesday, June 19th, at the St. Louis Community Center.
ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES
The hours of operation for the Fishmart are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday,
from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will have fresh lobsters,
oysters, mussels, quahogs, and fresh fish.

 Dr. Naqvi will be having office hours at the Health Centre from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please call the
Tignish Health Centre at 882-2260 for an appointment.
 Bargain Basement hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. $5 a bag and $11.50
for a large bag (HST included in the price). If you would like to donate your time and become a
volunteer, please feel free to drop in and put your name on our calendar at the Bargain Basement.
ANNUAL MEETING - WESTERN REGION SPORT AND RECREATION COUNCIL
The Western Region Sport and Recreation Council Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Monday,
May 27th, at 6:00 p.m. at Access PEI, in O’Leary. All are welcome to attend.

COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
 We will be hosting a meet and greet night at the Tignish Legion on Tuesday, May 28th, at 7:00 p.m. in
honor of four Municipal Councillors from Ireland who will be in our area for a few days. Blair Gaudet and
Joey Doucette will provide some easy listening music and maybe a touch of Irish music.
 Councillor Cassie Gavin, Chairperson for the Communities in Bloom, extends her appreciation to those
who came out to clean the park on Monday, May 20th in preparation for the IWK fundraising event at the
park on Sunday, May 26th.
KIDS WEST
KIDS WEST WELCOME YOUR PARTICIPATION – COME JOIN US FOR SOME FREE FAMILY FUN!
 This month is “Little Chef’s Month”: Drop in play from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday in
Alberton, Wednesday in O’Leary at the Church of Christ, Thursday in Tyne Valley at the Presbyterian
Hall, and Friday in Alberton. Next month will be “Little Gardener’s Month” with lots of fun outdoor
activities. More information to come.
 POOL PARTY: All children 6 and under along with their parents or caregivers are welcome to join us
for a free pool party on Wednesday, May 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rodd Mill River
Aquaplex. Please contact Kids West to confirm presence.
 BIKE RODEO: All families with children 12 and under are invited to attend our bike rodeo on Saturday,
June 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Alberton Credit Union parking lot.

The band “Phase 2” will be playing at the Palmer Road Community Center on Saturday, June 1st, from

ROAST BEEF DINNER
Join us for a delicious roast beef dinner on Sunday, June 2nd, beginning at 12:00 noon at the Palmer
Road Community Center. Dinner consists of roast beef with all the trimmings, dessert, tea, and
coffee. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 and under. All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the Hall.

ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Legion Bursaries are available to qualifying grade 12 students. Application forms are available at the

is June 8th.

There will be a prize bingo on Sunday, June 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Tignish Legion. All proceeds going to
the Relay for Life.

The Jennifer Peters Memorial Relay for Life Fundraising bingo will be held on Sunday, June 9th, at 2:00
