BINGO
Les étudiants de la 5 et 6 année de l’École Pierre-Chiasson organisent un bingo comme levée
de fonds pour leur voyage d’école le dimanche 19 mai à 18h00 au Centre acadien de PrinceOuest. Prix d’entrée est adulte 10$, étudiant 5$ et 5 ans et moins 2$. Il y aura un cantine et
50/50. Venez en grand nombre pour avoir la chance de gagner des beaux prix. N’oubliez pas
vos jetons!

The grade 5 and 6 students from École Pierre-Chiasson are organizing a bingo as a fundraiser for
their school trip on Sunday, May 19th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest. The
cost is adult $10, students $5, and 5 years and under $2. Come out for a chance to win some
nice prizes. Don’t forget your bingo chips!

ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTER – NIGHT OF MUSIC
Entertainment at the St. Louis Community Center on Sunday, May 19th, at 7:30 p.m. Music
featuring Leonard Gaudet and Vince Savoie, from Souris, and Raymond Perry & Friends.
Admission is $5. Light lunch will be served. Come out for a good night of music.
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Early season rates are in effect to June 7th. If you have a group, family reunion, or an
organization planning a golf tournament, please call to book your date. Memberships, 10-round

The Municipal Building will be closed on Monday, May 20th, for Victoria Day.
Summer Hours: Commencing on Tuesday, May 21st, the office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. until the fall.
For maintenance purposes, the flushing of the water lines will take place during the week of
May 21st. During that time period, you may notice a slight drop in the water pressure and some
discoloring. The council apologizes for any inconvenience it may cause.
As part of the Communities in Bloom, Monday, May 20th is designated to clean up the
Bicentennial Park. We would like to see as many volunteers as possible to help clean the Park
and, if at all possible, Pump Corner’s garden. The clean-up will start at 1:00 p.m., followed by
a barbecue.
ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES

The hours of operation for the Fishmart are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.,
Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will have
fresh lobsters, oysters, mussels, quahogs, and fresh fish.
TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE
 Dr. Naqvi will be having office hours at the Health Centre from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please
call the Tignish Health Centre at 882-2260 for an appointment.
 Bargain Basement hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. $5 a bag and
$11.50 for a large bag (HST included in the price). If you would like to donate your time and
become a volunteer, please feel free to drop in and put your name on our calendar at the
Bargain Basement.
LIBERTY PALMER ROAD AL-ANON
If your home is unhappy because someone drinks too much... we can help you. Liberty Palmer
Road Group meets every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Palmer Road Community

 This month is “Little Chef’s Month”: Drop in play from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday
in Alberton, Wednesday in O’Leary at the Church of Christ, Thursday in Tyne Valley at the
Presbyterian Hall, and Friday in Alberton. Next month will be “Little Gardener’s Month” with lots
of fun outdoor activities. More information to come.
 POOL PARTY: All children 6 and under along with their parents or caregivers are welcome to
join us for a free pool party on Wednesday, May 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the
Rodd Mill River Aquaplex. Please contact Kids West to confirm presence.
 BIKE RODEO: All families with children 12 and under are invited to attend our bike rodeo on
Saturday, June 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Alberton Credit Union parking lot.

Join us for our Legion Convention Weekend on May 24th and 25th. Come on out for free pub
nights on Friday, May 24th, with Joey Doucette from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and Saturday, May
25th, with Jukebox. Come pick your favorite song and dance the night away from 9:00 p.m. to
close.
YARD AND BAKE SALE
There will be a yard and bake sale on Saturday, May 25th, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the
St. Anthony’s Parish Hall. We will be accepting baked good and articles for the sale on Friday,
May 24th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or call 853-3999. All profit to the Christmas Hampers.
IWK FESTIVAL IN THE PARK
IWK Festival in the Park will be held at the Bicentennial Park Sunday, May 26th, from 1:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m. Rain location will be the Credit Union Arena. Some of the activities include: music
by Rodney Arsenault, Daniel Drouin, and other local singers, 50/50, raffle tickets, quilt tickets,
barbecue, Cavendish Farms fry cart, candy apples, fudge, face painting, helium balloons, games,
inflatables, teddy bear clinic, and more. Horse Pull start time is 1:30 p.m. behind the
Bicentennial Park. Come out and join in the fun and help support this worthy cause!
SUMMER EMPLOYMENT – TIGNISH SENIORS HOME CARE COOP
We are now accepting resumes for The Student Canada Summer Job Program to be eligible you
must be between the ages of 15-30 and returning to school in the fall. The start day is Monday,

The band “Phase 2” will be playing at the Palmer Road Community Center on Saturday, June 1st
