Skit N’ Skof presents “Henry Ponders ‘To Sell or Not to Sell’” at the Westisle Theatre, Thanksgiving
weekend, Friday, October 10th and Sunday, October 12th at 7:30 p.m. Adults $10.00, children 12 and

ROAST BEEF DINNER - PALMER ROAD KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The Palmer Road Knights of Columbus invite you to a Roast Beef Dinner on Sunday, October 5th
beginning at 12:00 noon. Dinner consists of roast beef with all the trimmings, dessert and tea/coffee.
Cost: Adults $8.00 and children $4.00. Proceeds for up-keep of the Hall.
TIGNISH “CHILDREN’S WISH PARADE”
The Tignish Children’s Wish Parade will be held on Saturday, October 18th from the Tignish Fire Hall.
Pledge sheets are available at Harper’s Automotive in Tignish or from Wilma Morrissey. The person who
brings in the most pledge money at the Tignish Parade will win a MTX 225 10-speed bike! More info. on the
Parade will be announced at a later date.

UNE SOIRÉE À LA RIVIÈRE-PLATTE EN 1787
Le Comité historique Soeur-Antoinette-DesRoches présente une activité spéciale le samedi 4 octobre à
18h30 au Centre Expo-Festival à Abram-Village. Intitulé “Une soirée à la Rivière-Platte”, ce souper (rôti de
porc ou fish cakes) sera animé par des comédiens qui incarneront des Acadiens et des Acadiennes qui
habitaient la Rivière-Platte, sur la baie de Malpèque, en 1787. Un festin de l’époque avec chants, reels,
danse où règnera la bonne humeur. Les billets sont en vente à 30 $ aux endroits suivants: Musée acadien,
Miscouche; Centre scolaire-communautaire Évangéline, Abram-Village; et Centre Belle-Alliance,
Summerside. On peut aussi réserver son billet en téléphonant au Musée acadien au 902-432-2880. Aucun
billet en vente à la porte.
A SOIRÉE AT RIVIÈRE-PLATTE IN 1787
The Sister Antoinette DesRoches Historical Committee will be holding a special event (in French) on
Saturday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Centre Expo-Festival in Abram-Village. Entitled “Une soirée à la
Rivière-Platte”, this supper (roast pork or fish cake) will be hosted by a number of comedians playing the
parts of Acadians who lived at Rivière-Platte on Malpèque Bay in 1787. A traditional feast with songs,
fiddling, dancing and lots of good humour! Tickets are on sale for $30 each at the following locations:
Acadian Museum, Miscouche; Centre scolaire-communautaire Évangéline, Abram-Village; and Centre BelleAlliance, Summerside. Tickets can also be reserved by calling at the Acadian Museum at 902-432-2880.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
ACCESS PEI - WINTER HOURS
Winter hours will resume Monday, September 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Office will be closed
Monday, October 13th, Thanksgiving Day.

TIGNISH FIGURE SKATING CLUB
The second and final registration night is on Friday, October 17th at the Credit Union Arena from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. upstairs. Our first day of skating will be Sunday, October 19th.
The club is looking for some junior coaches (PA’s) to help with our skating season coming up and
these are qualified bursary hours for anyone looking for volunteer hours and for more information call
Christa Gaudet at 882-2668.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTRE

The next Career Bridges Program (a vocational assessment and career planning program) will begin in O’Leary on

COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
' Commencing on Monday, September 29th, the Municipal Office will resume to winter hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30
a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
' The Customers on the Tignish Water System may experience a drop in the water pressure and possibly a
discoloration on Tuesday, September 30th and Wednesday, October 1st during the flushing of the water mains. The
flushing of the mains is required to help maintain water quality. The Utility apologizes for any interruptions.
BENEFIT
There will be a Benefit for Jordon Perry, 12 year old son of Brian & Tracy Perry, who is in Moncton hospital with head
injuries. The Benefit will be held on Sunday, September 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Tignish Legion. There will be an
auction, fudge sale, 50/50, lottery and lots of local talent. Proceeds go towards medical and travel expenses. Please
come out and support this worthy cause.

The Tignish Children’s Wish will be having a 50/50 Bingo on Wednesday, October 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the
Knights of Columbus Hall in Palmer Road.
