ANNUAL MEETING OF THE GOLDEN SLIPPER FRIENDS
The Golden Slipper Friends of the Tignish Seniors’ Home will be having their Annual Meeting on Tuesday,
March 16th at 1:00 p.m. at the Home. A guest speaker will be attending. Refreshments to follow.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY 2010 IN TIGNISH
Wednesday, March 17th is going to be a fun and “GREEN” day in Tignish. Ê Watch out for the leprechaun!
Search for clues to reveal his name and win! Children’s activities at the Legion until 4:00 p.m. An Irish meal
(corned beef and cabbage) at the Legion from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. - $10.00 advanced tickets available at the
Legion or by calling 882-2873. Irish music in the lounge, Irish trivia with Joe at 7:00 p.m. and Irish Pub with
“Cork”. Wear some green (optional) and come out for a great time!
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, PALMER ROAD
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration - Wednesday, March 17th at the Palmer Road Community Centre. There will
be local talent. Free admission! We will be serving irish stew for $3.00 a bowl and there will be an open bar.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and celebration starts at 5:00 p.m.
ANTRIM SISTERS
Celebrate the Luck of the Irish Ê by sending your favorite bouquet to your favorite lad or lass! Also, pre-book
for Easter plants in memory of your loved one - to be brought to your place of worship by Antrim Sisters. We
also have a wide variety of colorful Easter arrangements, potted mums and Easter lilies. As always, looking

MIMINEGASH FIREMENTTES
The Miminegash Firemenettes are having an impersonator on Sunday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m. at the Palmer
Road Community Centre (Knights of Columbus). Lots of fantastic music and fun! A lunch will also be served.
Admission $10.00 each and all proceeds will go to the Firemen’s Fund.
COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
The Residents’ Annual Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23rd (Storm date: March 24th) at 7:00 p.m.
in the Boardroom of the Municipal Building. Notices of the meeting will be in the Graphic on Wednesday,
March 10th and Journal on Friday, March 19th. This is your meeting, the Residents of the Community, and at
the same time meet your newly elected council.
ANNUAL MEETING - COMMUNITY OF ST. FELIX
Annual Meeting for the Community of St. Felix will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the
Community Centre. Financial items statement, increase in fire dues, tax rate for 2010 will be discussed. All
residents are urged to attend.

Programs available for the Fall 2010:
Pre-Kindergarten Program (for children 4 years old); Preschool Program (for children 3 years old); Daycare services

AN EXPLORATION OF ABRAM-VILLAGE’S ARCHITECTURE
Historian Georges Arsenault will explore Abram-Village’s architecture in an illustrated lecture, in French, at the Acadian
Museum in Miscouche, on Sunday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. He will talk about the original architecture of the houses and
other buildings of this Acadian village and he will demonstrate how this architecture has changed over the years. He will
illustrate his subject with the help of numerous photos, old as well as recent ones. Refreshments. Free admission;
donations appreciated. Information: 432-2880. Storm date: Sunday, March 21st.
UNE EXPLORATION DE L’ARCHITECTURE D’ABRAM-VILLAGE

The Fishermen’s Haven Park Committee and the Tignish Shore C.I.C. wish to thank everyone who helped us
with our recent fundraiser at the Tignish Legion. Thank you to: those who volunteered their time, those who
bought or made items for the auction, made cakes, fudge and other food items. Thank you to: the
entertainers, Blair Gaudet for sound equipment and entertainment, Dale Gaudet for being the auctioneer and
the Tignish Credit Union for their generous donation. We especially thank those who attended the Fundraiser
and gave so generously. We raised over $2,100.00 for our Park. Thank you all again!
BENEFIT NIGHT
The family and friends of Roy LeClair (son of Alphonse and Irene LeClair) who suffered injuries from a fall at
work and now has to travel to Halifax due to heart problems, invite you to come out to the Benefit Night that
will take place at the Tignish Legion on Sunday, March 14th at 7:30 p.m. Auction, ticket slae, live

Miminegash Firemenettes are having an Easter Bingo on Sunday, March 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the
Miminegash Fire Hall. Admission $5.00. Canteen services will be available. There will also be a 50/50. All
proceeds will go to the Firemen’s Fund.
