HAPPY HARVEST HULLABALOO
The fun-nest night of the fall, when we meet at the Palmer Road Hall! Join us on Sunday,
September 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A light supper of chili or fricot (from 5:00 p.m. to
6:00 p.m.) will be followed by skits from members of Skit N’ Skof, singing and other entertainment
by various local artists, a little auction with lots of action, and 50/50 draw. Admission is $10 with
meal or $5 without meal. All proceeds will go towards the Esther Finkle Walk for Kids.
GRAND RUISSEAU SONG FESTIVAL
Hope to see you at this year’s Grand Ruisseau Song Festival at the Mont-Carmel Parish hall.
Come out on Sunday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy our show with Les Voix du Havre, a
choir from the Magdalen Islands, and the group Big River. Admission is $7 adult, $4 student, and
free for preschoolers.
FESTIVAL DE LA CHANSON DU GRAND RUISSEAU
En espérant de vous voir au Festival de la chanson du Grand Ruisseau à la salle paroissiale de
Mont-Carmel. Venez le dimanche 30 septembre à 19h00 pour notre spectacle avec la chorale

Linda Costain and Girls will be performing at the St. Louis Community Centre on Sunday,

ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Twilight rates start at 3:00 p.m.
Ladies and men’s nights are now both at 5:00 p.m. This week will probably be the last week.
The weather is changing and with it comes the chance of frost, which determines what time the
first tee time is in the morning. Call before coming if you’re not sure.
Recently we held our Club Championship and everyone playing in it had a chance to win a
2013 membership. Louie Shea was the winner. We want to thank all businesses who so
generously gave prizes for different tournaments over the summer. It was very much
appreciated. Also we want to thank anyone who helped with the tournaments, i.e. setting up,
barbequing, serving food, etc.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY
Holland College Alberton is offering a 10 week Workplace Communications course on Tuesday
evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, October 2nd. Learn how to present
to a group with confidence and improve your communication skills. This course is included in the
Human Services diploma program; however, it can be taken as a stand-alone course with no

PUMPKIN FUNDRAISER FOR THE TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE
Come out and purchase your painted pumpkin for Halloween on Friday, October 5th from 4:00
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. All pumpkins are painted by local artist. Lots to choose from for both young
and old! Enjoy some muffins and apples cider as you browse.

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION TIGNISH – BRANCH #6
On Sunday, October 7th come on out to enjoy a back 2 back “Johnny Cash” show performed by
two of Canada’s most requested tribute artists, Gary Kehoe and Dirk Henke. The show is from
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 or $13 at door. Age 19 and over only.
50/50 BINGO
The Golden Slipper Friends of the Tignish Seniors Home will be hosting a 50/50 bingo at the
Tignish Legion on Sunday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m. Please bring your own markers. Fudge
and 50/50 tickets will also be sold.
TURKEY SUPPER
The Sacred Heart Parish, in Alberton, is hosting a turkey supper on Sunday, October 28th. Takeout meals will be available for pick-up between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sit down meals will be
served from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children. You can
purchase your ticket by calling Jean Cahill at 853-2884, Ann Weeks at 853-2072, or Mona
Broderick at 853-2721. All tickets are pre sold.

The Municipal Election is just around the corner (Monday, November 5th) and we are doing our
