V’NEZ CHOU NOUS – THÉÂTRE ACADIEN
Le théâtre acadien « V’nez Chou Nous » sera de retour cette année au Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest,
situé à 119, ch DeBlois. Cette comédie française, écrite et dirigée par Raymond J. Arsenault intitulée « Ça
me « tente » pas d’aller camper! », ne manquera pas de vous faire rire. Les dates de spectacles sont
les jeudis 2, 9, 16, 23, et 30 août. Billets pour le spectacle seulement sont 15$ adultes et 8$ pour
enfants âgés de 12 ans et moins ou avec repas inclus pour 30$ adultes et 15$ pour les enfants. Pour

The Acadian theatre, “V’nez Chou Nous 2012”, will be returning this year at the Centre acadien de PrinceOuest, located at 119 DeBlois Rd. This French comedy, written and directed by Raymond J. Arsenault

ROYAL STAR FOODS – TIGNISH FISHERIES
Come visit the Fish Mart at Royal Star Foods, located at 175 Judes Point, Tignish. We have fresh north
side hard shell lobster (all July), fish, mussels, sand free clams, oysters, quahogs, etc. Along with fresh
frozen lobster meat, scallops, shrimp, canned hot pack lobster, lobster paste, lots of Island made products
and gifts. Store hours for the months of July and August are Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
and Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We have FREE delivery throughout P.E.I. on Tuesdays

MISSION DAY FOR FATHER ROY SHEA!
Join us for a special fundraiser event to raise money for Fr. Roy Shea’s missionary work in Brazil on
Sunday, July 29th, at the Palmer Road Community Center. There will be a 50/50 bingo from 2:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m., followed by a BBQ from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and live entertainment beginning at 5:30 p.m.
There will be a 50/50 draw and door prizes. Donations accepted at the door. Everyone welcome! Please

CAUSERIE DU MARDI SUR LES BUOTE ET LEUR IMPRIMERIE À TIGNISH
La Causerie du mardi intitulée « Les Buote et leur imprimerie » aura lieu (en français) au Musée acadien, à
Miscouche, le mardi 31 juillet, à 19h30. Le conférencier Riel Gallant parlera de ses nouvelles recherches
sur l’imprimerie que Gilbert Buote et son fils François-Joseph Buote ont opéré à Tignish, de 1893 aux
années 1920, et qui a servi entre autres à imprimer le journal L’Impartial. Riel Gallant est étudiant à la
maîtrise à Dalhousie University. Entrée gratuite.
TUESDAY TALK (IN FRENCH) ON THE BUOTE FAMILY AND THEIR PRINTING PRESS IN TIGNISH
The Tuesday Talk on the Buotes and their printing press will be held (in French) at the Acadian Museum, in
Miscouche, on Tuesday, July 31st, at 7:30 p.m. The lecturer Riel Gallant will talk about his new research
on the printing press that the Buote family operated in Tignish, from 1893 to the 1920s, and which served
in particular to print the French language newspaper L’Impartial. Riel Gallant is studying for his Master’s
Degree at Dalhousie University. Admission is free.

IRISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL OF P.E.I. 2012!
e This year’s festival kicks off on Wednesday, August 1st and runs through until Sunday August 5th.

e AN EVENING WITH REG PORTER: On Wednesday, August 1st, at the St. Felix Community Hall, Reg
Porter will be delivering a presentation about growing up in our community, discussing the importance of
the cooperative, and other unique features we have that make us who we are today. The presentation
begins at 7:00 p.m. There will be a short intermission where a light snack will be provided. Hope to see

e JOHN MCDERMOTT TO PERFORM AUGUST 2nd! John McDermott is returning to the Irish Heritage
Festival of P.E.I. again this year. On Thursday, August 2nd, he will be performing at Westisle
Composite High School theatre at 7:30 p.m., doors to open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available at the door
(cash only). Advanced tickets are available at the following retail outlets; Eugene's General Store,
Tignish, Shirley's Café, Tignish, O'Leary Guardian Drug, Pridham's V&S, Alberton. Tickets are $49.95
each, taxes included.

“THE NINE RIBBON CEREMONY”
TO MARK THE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE ACADIANS, MI'KMAQ AND IRISH you are invited to a
colourful ceremony in tribute to Irish history and heritage, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4th, at 171
Chiasson Road, Tignish, during the P.E.I. Irish Folk Festival. There will be songs, music, official speeches,
and the unveiling of a monument. Admission is free! Principal sponsor is Canadian Heritage (organized
by the West Prince Heritage Complex Association Inc.).
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
The Lucky Leprechaun Golf tournament will be held on Saturday, August 4th, with a shot gun start at
1:00 p.m. $10,000 prize for a hole-in-one. Four person best ball. First 72 names accepted. Call now
as there are only a few spots left. Prizes, draws, and barbecue to follow.

ST. ANTHONY’S PARISH CHURCH PICNIC
The St. Anthony’s Parish Church Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 5th, at the St. Anthony’ s Parish,
located on 37947 Route 2, Bloomfield. Outdoor mass starts at 12:00 p.m. A delicious “homemade” hot
roast beef dinner will be served immediately following the mass. Cost is $12 adults and $8 children. Join
us for a day of fun for the whole family including games, hay rides, music, yard sale, lottery draws, 50/50,
bingo at 1:30 p.m., and a food auction at approximately 7:00 p.m. In case of rain, meals will still be served
on Sunday. Rain date for remainder of event is Monday, August 6th, starting at 5:00 p.m.

bringing up the Offertory Gifts, and to those who opened and closed the grave. Thank you to Doctors and
Nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto for taking care of Geraldine during her sickness and to
Rooney`s Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism. A very special thank you to Father
Brendan Gallant for his very comforting words to us during Geraldine’s funeral. Your support to us at this
very sad time means more to us than words can express.
