A TALK (IN ENGLISH) ON PHOTOGRAPHER EDDY À AGNO GAUDET
An illustrated talk titled "Eddy Agno Gaudet: A Photographer from Wellington” will be held, in English, at the
Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, on Sunday, October 20th, at 2:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Georges
Arsenault, historian and collector of old photos. His presentation will consist of a remarkable collection of photos
taken between 1920 and 1960 by Eddy Agno Gaudet, an amateur photographer. Free admission; donations
appreciated.
CAUSERIE SUR LES PHOTOS PRISES PAR EDDY À AGNO GAUDET
Une causerie illustrée intitulée « Eddy à Agno Gaudet : photographe de Wellington » aura lieu, en anglais, au
Musée acadien, à Miscouche, le dimanche 20 octobre, à 14 h 00. Le conférencier invité sera Georges
Arsenault, historien et collectionneur de photos anciennes. Il présentera une remarquable collection de photos

BINGO
The Golden Slipper Friends will be hosting a 50/50 chip bingo on Sunday, October 20th, at 2:00 p.m., at the
Tignish Legion. All proceeds will go towards the Tignish Seniors Home for activities. There will also be a fudge
sale and 50/50 tickets sold.
BENEFIT – LECLAIR
There will be a benefit show in aid of Pearl LeClair, who is battling cancer and will be undergoing surgery, to
help with medical and travelling expenses. The benefit will take place at the Tignish Legion on Sunday,
October 20th, at 7:00 p.m. Music by Blair Gaudet Band and local talent. There will be a live and silent auction;
also 50/50 tickets will be sold. Please come and show your support.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTER – NIGHT OF MUSIC
 Enjoy a night of music at the St. Louis Community Center on Sunday, October 20th, at 7:30 p.m., featuring
Edith Gaudet & Friends, Raymond Perry & Friends, and Linda Costain & Girls. Admission is $5. A light
lunch will be served. Don’t miss a great night of music. All proceeds for upkeep of the Hall.
 On Sunday, November 10th, at 7:00 p.m., join us for a night of entertainment with various local artists.
Admission is $5. All proceeds will go to the Western Hospital. Donations will be accepted at the door.
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
 Time is soon running out on the golfing season, the course is in great shape. Beginning Sunday, October
20th, golf all day for $20.
 We have caps and golf gloves for sale at reduced prices. They make great birthday and Christmas gifts.
 We want to say a big thank you to all who supported us in any way during the golf season. To all business,
organizations, and individuals who donated prizes for all the different golf tournaments. It’s only with such
great generosity that the tournaments can be successful. To those who helped out with setting up for the
barbeque and the cooking, thank you so much!
OKTOBERFEST/ FALL HARVEST DAY IN THE PARK
Our committee would like to thank everyone who came out to our event; with your help we were able to raise
approximately $1,000 for the New Equipment fund at the Tignish Bi-Centennial Park. The winning 50/50
number is 0530401 and has not been claimed. If you have the winning ticket, contact Leah McGrath at 8537657.
COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
 The Community Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and closed from 12:30
p.m. to 1:00 p.m. year round, commencing on Monday, October 21st.
 The community of Tignish Halloween curfew will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st. Happy

TIN WHISTLE LESSONS TO BEGIN IN ALBERTON
Tignish Irish Folk Festival is hosting 10 sessions this fall for those interested in learning to play the tin whistle.
Sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays, at 7:00 p.m. for youths under 16 years of age and at
8:00 p.m. for those 16 and over. All sessions will be held at the Alberton Heritage Centre. Registration fee is
$40. Tin whistles in the chord of “D” will be available for purchase or you can get them at Long & McQuade, in
Summerside. Instructor is Jessie Arsenault, music major at Mount Allison. First session will be Tuesday,
October 22nd, and if you wish to pre-register, you may call Cletus Dunn 853-2554. Number of participants is
limited.
1ST ANNUAL HALLOWEEN HUSTLE
In support of the IWK, this 2 km walk and 5 km run is the perfect family event! Join us at Bi-centennial Park, in
Tignish, on Saturday, October 26th, and don't forget to wear your costume. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
and the race starts at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $10 a person and $2 for children ages 12 and under. Contact

HALLOWEEN DANCE
Old Doctor Young will be playing at the Palmer Road Community Centre for a Halloween dance on Saturday,
October 26th, from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The judging of costumes will be held at 12:00 p.m. Admission is
$10 a person. All 19 years and older are welcome. Anyone wearing a mask will be asked to provide ID. Come
on out for some spooky Halloween fun!
PANCAKE BREAKFAST
On Sunday, October 27th, come enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the St.
Anthony’s Parish Hall. Cost is $5. There will be a 50/50 draw. Proceeds will go towards the Bloomfield area
Christmas Hampers.

TIGNISH C.W.L. ANNUAL BAZAAR
The Tignish C.W.L. Annual Bazaar will be on Sunday, October 27th, from noon until 4:00 p.m., at the Tignish
Parish Center. Roast beef dinner (sit down or take out) available from noon to 2:00 p.m. Cost is adults $10 and
children $7. There will also be a bazaar table, bake table, cake sale, lotteries, and games from noon until 4:00
p.m. Bingo, cards, and children’s Halloween activities (treats if in costume, pumkin and cookie decorating, facepainting, Halloween manicures, crafts, and coloring) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations for cakes, other
baked goods, fudge, preserves, items for the Bazaar table, as well as grocery items for the card games would
be greatly appreciated and may be taken to the Parish Centre on Saturday, October 26th, between 1:00 p.m.

5th ANNUAL OCTOBER FEAST
The Miminegash Firemenettes will be having their 5th Annual October Feast on Sunday, October 27th, at the
Palmer Road Community Centre, at 5:00 p.m. The cost is adults $10 and children 12 and under $5. Tickets can
be purchased at F.J. Shea and Son or from any of the Firemenette. All proceeds will go towards a new pumper
truck.

The Group meets every Tuesday, at 1:00 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest, in DeBlois. We have
various activities including card game. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, at 1:00 p.m.

TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE
 Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who came to the Tignish Health Centre last Monday night to paint
pumpkins and to those who decorated them at home and brought them to the centre. We would also like to
thank a bunch of awesome ladies who helped decorate the centre for our pumpkin and bake sale. The place
looked great and we sold all 104 pumpkins. The pumpkin sale raised $1,050. To all who donated to our
bake sale, thank you for your generous donations. We raised a total of $485.60 and the cake auction raised
a total of $118. The winner was Alice Hogan. We are grateful for all your support with our fundraiser; you
made it a great success!
 There will be a Pap Clinic on Wednesday, November 6th, at the Tignish Health Centre, sponsored by the
Cornwall Pap Clinic. To book an appointment, please call 1-866-818-7277 (toll free).
 There will be a Flu Shot Clinic at the Health Centre on Friday, November 8th, and Tuesday, November
19th. Please call 1-855-354-4358 to make an appointment for your needle. Senior, ages 65 and over, and
children, from 6 months to 5 years, are free. There will be a $7 cash fee for those ages 6 to 64.
LIVING WELL WITH A CHRONIC LUNG CONDITION
Primary Care Services is providing education session on how to maintain and improve your quality of life with a
chronic lung condition. The program is four sessions, starting Wednesday, November 13th. All sessions will
be held on the third floor Boardroom at Western Hospital. Contact Alberton Health Services at 853-0403 for
