TIGNISH C.W.L. ANNUAL BAZAAR
This year’s Annual Bazaar is on Sunday, October 28th at the Tignish Parish Center from 12:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m. Hot turkey dinners will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with take-out available. There
will also be a bingo, bazaar table, bake table, cake sale, lotteries, card games, and other various games.
Children Halloween activities such as face painting, Halloween manicures, cookie decorating, pumpkin
decorating, crafts, and coloring will take place between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Children dressed in
costumes will receive a treat. All are encouraged to attend.
TURKEY SUPPER
The Sacred Heart Parish, in Alberton, is hosting a turkey supper on Sunday, October 28th. Take-out
meals will be available for pick-up between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sit down meals will be served from
4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children. You can purchase your ticket
by calling Jean Cahill at 853-2884, Ann Weeks at 853-2072, or Mona Broderick at 853-2721. All tickets
are pre-sold.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTRE
On Sunday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. music by Raymond Perry and Friends. Admission is $5.
On Sunday, November 4th entertainment by a surprise group at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Come and
enjoy a good evening of entertainment. Proceeds for the up-keep of the Centre.
Please note that there will be NO MUSIC on Sunday, November 11th and Sunday, November 18th.

Royal Star Foods Stockroom and Fishmart hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., and closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Salt fish, gift baskets, Chicken Haddie, and lobster packs

Remembrance Day wreaths are available to purchase on or after Monday, October 29th at the Branch.
Remembrance Day Banquet - Purchase your tickets at the Branch. Cost is $10 for members and $15
for non-members. Only a limited number of tickets are being sold. Deadline to purchase is
November 7th. There will be a special video presentation as this is our Branch’s 80th Anniversary. Live
entertainment in our Lounge following the Banquet.

Tignish Municipal Election will be held on Monday, November 5th in the Municipal Boardroom, 209
Phillip Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come out and vote.
TRY HOCKEY PROGRAM
Free Try Hockey Program for children in grade K-6 on Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. starting
November 2nd to December 14th at Jacques Cartier Arena, in Alberton. All equipment is provided with the
exception of skates. This program is an introduction to hockey and is open to any children that are not

ROAST BEEF DINNER
Join us for a delicious roast beef dinner on Sunday, November 4th beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Palmer
Road Community Centre. Dinner consists of roast beef with all the trimmings, tea, coffee, and dessert.
Cost is adults $10 and children $5. Proceeds will go towards the up-keep of the Hall.

SOCIAL MEDIA TRAINING FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES
Tignish and Area Tourism Ambassador Program is now offering one-on-one Social Media training to
tourism operators and other area businesses. Twitter and Facebook Page creation as well as Instagram
and Pinterest training will be offered for those interested and not just ‘how’ to use them, but why and
when. Also being offered is assistance in creating WordPress based websites to assist with their personal

ST. ANTHONY’S HAM & BEAN SUPPER
On Sunday, November 4th, come enjoy a delicious ham & bean supper from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the St.
Anthony’s Parish Hall. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
ADULT EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS/GED COURSES
Do you need a grade 12 diploma or are you short of a high school credit such as Math, English, Biology,
etc.? Then, we are here to help you! High school credits/GED are available starting now at Holland
College West Prince Center, in Alberton. Full-time day classes are offered Monday to Friday from 9:00
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or part-time night classes on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Full time GED instruction starts on November 5th at the Alberton Center and January 2, 2013 at the
Dalton Center, in Tignish. There is NO COST TO YOU. Start when you are ready. Learn at your own

Alberton to check things out.
COMMUNITY OF ST. FELIX
The Community of St. Felix will be holding a special election meeting for Council at the St. Felix
Community Center on Monday, November 5th at 7:30 p.m. All residents are urged to attend.
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION NIGHT
The Tignish Seniors Home will be hosting their Annual Volunteer Appreciation Night on Friday, November
9th. Supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. Music will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Joey and Blair. Please reply by
calling 882-4663 if you are a volunteer and are planning to attend no later than November 5th.
ACTIVITÉ DE FAMILLE

FREE-ACTIVE PARENTING OF TEENS PROGRAM
A Free-Active Parenting of Teens Program is being offered. This 6 week session is for parents whose
goal is to promote better communication and respect between themselves and their teens or soon to be
teens. Instructed by Rene Tremblay and will be given every Thursday evening starting November 8th
from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tignish Employment Resource Centre, located at 211 Phillip St.,

SALT FISH SUPPER
The senior’s group “Le Club des Coeurs joyeux” invite you to come out to a salt fish supper on Friday,
November 9th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest. Cost is $12.50 ($10.00 for
members) – please note change in cost. An alternative meal will be offered for those who do not like salt
fish. Only 40 plates will be served.

Le Club des coeurs joyeux vous invites à un souper de morue salée le vendredi 9 novembre de 16h30 à
