COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
The Council’s Regular Monthly Meeting will be held on Monday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the
boardroom of the Municipal Building. Residents are encouraged to attend and present any concerns
they may have or suggestions under Public Comments.
The Council will entertain the second reading of the Remuneration Bylaw, Bylaw No. 15.
CAUSERIE DU MARDI SUR LES ACADIENS DE SUMMERSIDE
La Causerie du mardi “A Century of Acadian Presence in Summerside (1855-1955)” aura lieu (en anglais) au
Musée acadien, à Miscouche, le 13 juillet à 19h30. Le généalogiste Jean Bernard parlera des origines des
premières familles acadiennes de Summerside, de leurs occupations et de leurs contributions à la ville de
Summerside. Rafraîchissements. Entrée gratuite; dons appréciés. Cette causerie est présentée en
collaborations avec La Belle-Alliance.
TUESDAY TALK (IN ENGLISH) ON THE ACADIANS OF SUMMERSIDE
The Tuesday Talk “A Century of Acadian Presence in Summerside (1855-1955)” will be held (in English) at the
Acadian Museum in Miscouche on July 13th at 7:30 p.m. The genealogist Jean Bernard will speak about the
origins of the first Acadian families of Summerside, their occupations and contributions to the city of
Summerside. Refreshments. Free admission; donations appreciated. This talk is presented in collaboration
with La Belle-Alliance.
LIGHTHOUSE DAYS
Join us for Lighthouse Days at North Cape Complex (outside) on Thursday, July 15th from 1:00 to 4:00
p.m. There will be a kite making contest at 1:00 and buoy painting contest at 3:00 (cost is $10.00 per kite &
buoy). Decorations are provided or you can bring your own. There will also be a Young Millionaire’s Booth,
entertainment by Dale Gaudet & Gang, appearances by Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, face-painting, and
a kite stunt demonstration at 2:00 p.m. by Richard Savident. Parental supervision is required. Rain location
will be upstairs at the Cultural Centre (103 School Street).
ANNUAL DEMOLITION DERBY
The Annual Demolition Derby will be held on Sunday, July 18th at 1:30 p.m. at the Gallant Pit in Norway.
Sponsored by the Tignish Fire Dept. Admission $5.00 per person.
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
 Golf Tournament in aid of the IWK Children’s Hospital on Sunday, July 18th with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Lots of
prizes including an autographed, framed photo of Mike Weir. The first 72 names accepted. Draws, 50/50, bbq. Sign up
your team or as a single.  Men’s night will begin on Wednesday, July 10th at 6:00 p.m. If anyone is interested, you can
still join by contacting Leo Gaudet or call 882-2328.  The Golfing Program for children began on July 7th - if your child
missed the first day, they can come on July 14th - please call for more info.  Ladies interested in morning golf please call
and leave your name - it will start this week.
YOUTH TALENT SHOWCASE
Anyone between the ages of 0 and 21 are welcome to showcase their musical talents at an outdoor concert, Sunday, July
18th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Heritage property on the Chaisson Road in Tignish. If it rains, the concert will be held
indoors at the same location. Come support our youth! Admission $5.00. For more info., contact Aggie at 882-2385.
ST. SIMON & ST. JUDE’S YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISER
Sunday, July 18th at 7:30 p.m. at the Tignish Parish Centre there will be a fundraiser to pay for the cost of our bus to go
to Steubenville, N.S. Featuring “St. Simon & St. Jude’s Got Talent”, 50/50 and fudge sale. Admission is $7.00 for adults
and $5.00 for students.
COURS DE CATÉCHÈSE EN FRANÇAIS
Le Centre d’éducation chrétienne, du diocèse de Charlottetown, offre des programmes de catéchèse de la première à la
6e année en français. Il y aura une rencontre d’information et d’inscription au Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest à DeBlois

CATECHISM IN FRENCH
An information and registration session is planned for Thursday, July 15th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Centre acadien du
Prince-Ouest, DeBlois. Centre d’éducation chrétienne, of the Diocese of Charlottetown, is offering catechism programs

FISHERMEN’S HAVEN PARK CELEBRATES, TIGNISH SHORE, PEI
Our 2nd Annual Festival in the park will be held on Sunday, July 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Lots of great local
entertainment, seafood, BBQ hot dogs & sausages, children’s activities, lottery, 50/50, lighthouse gift shop and much more!
Hope to see you there! This is our major fundraiser for the year. Please support our festival and this beautiful park used
by so many in West Prince.
TIGNISH IRISH FOLK FESTIVAL
The 2010 Tignish Irish Folk Festival - Thursday, July 29th to Sunday, August 1st. There will be lots of music and fun for
all with common ball on Thursday and Friday, a Ceilidh on Friday night, a golf tournament, trivia and pub (Jimmy Sweeney
& Jug in Hand from Nova Scotia) on Saturday, and an Irish breakfast and outdoor family concert on Sunday (Guinness,
