TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE WALK-A-THON
The Annual Tignish Health Centre Walk-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, June 27th. Registration time is
9:45a.m. and the Walk starts at 10:15 a.m. Lots of prizes to give away including two (2) Cavendish Beach
Music Festival Weekend Passes valued at $437, two (2) concert tickets to Stompin’ Tom, bike, lobsters and
many more prizes. Pledge sheets can be picked-up at the Tignish Health Centre, Tignish Elementary, St.
Louis Elementary and École Pierre-Chiasson, Shirley’s Café and M.J.’s Bakery. There will also be a Yard
Sale, Bargain Basement will be open, face painting, bake sale, etc. which will be held in the parking lot of the
Health Centre as part of the Tignish Irish Moss Festival along with our Walk-A-Thon.
5TH ANNUAL BENNIE BERNARD MEMORIAL 6KM RUN/WALK
The 5 Annual Bennie Bernard Memorial 6km Run/Walk including 3km Run for kids 10 and under at
Immaculate Conception Parish, Palmer Road. This event is organized by Project Love and will be held rain
or shine on Sunday, June 28th at 1:30 p.m. Starts and finishes in the Church parking lot. Registration is
$5.00 per person with all proceeds going towards the purchase of a small tractor for the church. No bikes or
roller blades allowed. Strollers and wagons for kids are OK! Registration on the day of the Run. Waiver forms
are to be signed by all participants. Those under 18 years must have a parent or guardian sign a form for
them. Light refreshments, top runner awards and door prizes following the event. Safety is a top priority of
the organizers. Come give your support and enjoy a fun family event! For more information, call Randy Allain

ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Early season rates will include Sunday, June 21st for Father’s Day. Take Dad for a round of golf!
The Irish Moss Youth Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 26th beginning at 12:15 with a
chipping and putting contest followed by the Tournament at 1:00 p.m. Sign-up sheet in the shop.
Due to the Tignish Irish Moss Festival & Parade, we will be having our 10th Anniversary Celebrations
on Sunday, July 5th instead of June 28th as we do not want to interfere will the Irish Moss Festivities.
We will be offering $10.00 green fees to everyone on that day, along with $10.00 rate for golf carts and
free pull carts. Our caps will be reduced to $10.00 plus GST for this day only. Members have a choice
of a free beverage and a chance of winning a 10X9 hole round package to be able to take a family
member or friend for a game of golf. Members have to play that day to be eligible to win. Come
celebrate with us!
The GBS Program will begin Wednesday, July 1st. You can pre-register your child (ages 6 to 14).
Beginners will be at 12:00 p.m. Please call us at 882-2328.
Coming soon in July, a couple of fun days for ladies of any age who want to experience what golf is
all about at no charge and we will provide you with clubs, pull carts, etc. If you are interested, please
call and let us know. It will be a just-for-fun day with other ladies and a social gathering after.

TIGNISH IRISH MOSS FESTIVAL
I would like to WELCOME everyone to our 29th Annual Tignish Irish Moss Festival beginning
Wednesday, June 24th to Sunday, June 28th, 2009! This year will feature a Casino Night with many
exciting prizes including top prizes of a trip for two from WestJet and Irish Moss Festival $2,500.00
Cash Lottery!
On Saturday, June 27th the Tignish Irish Moss Festival is holding its Annual Community-Wide Yard
Sale. Sign up at the Rec. Office to put your name on the map. There is a $10 fee to get on the map.
The maps will be distributed at Eugene’s Drive-Thru at 7:00 a.m.
Pre-register at the Rec. Office for the following events: Laser Tag, Car Rally and Soccer Tournament.

TIGNISH SHORE - COMMUNITY YARD SALE
Tignish Shore will take part in the Community-Wide Yard Sale sponsored by the Irish Moss Festival
on Saturday, June 27th. Tables will be set up at Fisherman’s Haven Park. To rent a table call Lisa
at 882-3699. Tables are $5.00 each. Proceeds from the table rentals will go towards up-keep of the
Park.
TIGNISH IRISH FOLK FESTIVAL 2009
This year’s Tignish Irish Folk Festival will take place from Thursday, July 30th to Sunday, August
2nd. Mark the dates on your calendar for a weekend of fun, music and a great time to get together
with family and friends! Details coming soon!
INTERESTED IN JUDO OR WRESTLING?
New Judo/Wrestling Club open in Tignish (in Access PEI building, across from Employment Resource Office).
All men, women, boys and girls ages 6 to adult welcome. Wrestling Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m; Judo Wednesday
at 6:30 p.m. Two (2) week free trial for all new members. We are also looking for volunteers to help with
coaching wrestling. If any group (aerobics, yoga, etc.) is looking to rent space, we have a fully matted 24 X

Beginning Monday, June 29th we will be open for summer hours:
Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.;
Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.;
AND Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.;
Saturday from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Our Summer Reading Program is also beginning soon. This is a very important Program for
keeping your children reading over the summer months. Program times and dates will be
announced later.
Drop in for a free library card and take advantage of a great selection of books for every age
group. There is always an on-going sale of books for $2.00 per bag.

LE CLUB DES COEURS JOYEUX
Would you like to meet people and enjoy yourself? The Group meets every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the
Centre acadien in DeBlois. Next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 12:00 noon. We
have different activities including card games. We wish to invite anyone (even if you are not 50) to join us and
bring your ideas for activities. You will be most welcomed! See you there!
