ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES
Fishmart Hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and
on Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Lobster, oysters, clams, mussels, gift baskets, and much more.
Stockroom Hours are from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

VARIETY SHOW
The Western Hospital staff will be presenting a Variety Show at the Westisle High School on Sunday, May 15th at 7:30
p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 12 and under. All proceeds raised will go towards buying
hospital equipment.
PRIZE BINGO
There will be a prize bingo on Sunday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tignish Legion. Please bring markers. Admission
is $5 a door card. Proceeds are to cover postage to mail bags of clothing to Fr. Roy Shea.

EXHIBITION ON ISLAND ACADIAN WOMEN AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM
The public is invited to the opening of the new exhibition “Island Acadian Women” at the Acadian Museum, in
Miscouche, on Sunday, May 15th, at 2:00 p.m. On display are 75 photos taken between 1880 and 1960 and also
artifacts related to the lives of Island Acadian women. Guest curator Georges Arsenault conducted the research and
the selection of the photos. A reception will follow. The exhibition will be on display until the end of October.
LES FEMMES ACADIENNES DE L’ÎLE EN VEDETTE AU MUSÉE ACADIEN
Le public est invité à l’ouverture de la nouvelle exposition « Les Acadiennes de l’Île » au Musée acadien, à Miscouche,
le dimanche 15 mai, à 14h00. L’exposition comprend 75 photos prises entre 1880 et 1960 et aussi des artefacts qui
ont trait aux femmes acadiennes de l’Île. Georges Arsenault, conservateur invité, a assumé la recherche et la sélection
des photos. Une réception suivra. L’exposition sera en montre jusqu’à la fin d’octobre.

EMPLOYMENT - SUMMER STUDENT
Le Conseil Rév. S.-É.-Perrey inc., with financing from Jeunesse Canada au travail, has an opening for summer
employment for a student. The person must have studied out of the province for at least one year and must be

Le Conseil Rév. S.-É.-Perrey inc. ouvre un poste pour un(e) étudiant(e) d’été dans le câdre du financement de
Jeunesse Canada au travail. La personne devra avoir étudié au moins une année dans une autre province et doit
retourner aux études en septembre 2011. Si intéressé(e), veuillez apporter votre curriculum vitae au Centre acadien

23 mai pour 14 semaines.
ACTIVITÉ DE PÊCHE À LA TRUITE À BEN’S LAKE
Nous organisons une journée de pêche à la truite le mercredi 8 juin (en cas de pluie, le 9 juin) à Ben’s Lake. Nous
aurons un BBQ et la chance d’acheter notre grosse truite si nous somment chanceux assez de l’attraper. SVP reservez

COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
< The community of Tignish will host the Annual Community Clean Up on Monday, May 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Meet the
Council and staff at the park. Don’t forget your gloves and we will provide the garbage bags. Following the clean
up, a BBQ and refreshments will be held to show our appreciation.
< The Tignish Fire Department will be hosting their Annual Demolition Derby on Sunday, July 24th at 1:00 p.m., in
Norway. This is fun day for family and friends. Further information will follow at later date. Mark this event on your
calendar.

A TALK ON “THE PASSION FOR EVERYTHING IRISH”
The West Prince Heritage Complex Association will hold a special tribute to everything Irish at its Annual General
Meeting in English on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 p.m. at the Tignish's Royal Canadian Legion. There will be a
featured commemorative readings on Irish history, musical renditions of popular Irish songs, a talk by Guest Speaker
Eileen Conway-Martin, scrumptious refreshments and 50/50. Irish attire and colors encouraged. Membership
application forms available at the door. The public is cordially welcomed.

UNE CAUSERIE SUR «LA PASSION DE TOUT CE QUI EST IRLANDAIS»
L'Association du Complexe patrimonial de Prince-Ouest va tenir un hommage spécial à tout ce qui est irlandais lors
de son assemblée générale annuelle en anglais le mercredi 25 mai à 19h00 à la Légion royale canadienne à Tignish.
Il y aura une lecture commémorative sur l'histoire irlandaise, des chants populaires irlandais, une causerie par la
conférencière invitée Mme Eileen Conway-Martin, rafraîchissements succulents et 50/50. Vêtements et couleurs
irlandais encouragés. Formulaires d'adhésion disponibles à la porte. Le public est cordialement invité.

Directeur/Directrice: La personne recherchée est dynamique et saura exercer un rôle de leader au niveau du
développement et de l’épanouissement du centre de la petite enfance.
Éducateur/Éducatrice: Le Centre de la petite enfance est à la recherche d’une personne certifié(e) pour un
remplacement d’un congé de maternité à partir de septembre 2011.
Suppléance: Le comité est à la recherche de personnes intéressées pour faire de la suppléance au Centre de la petite

IWK FESTIVAL IN THE PARK
The IWK Festival in the Park will be held at Bicentennial Park on Sunday, May 29th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Rain
location will be the Credit Union Arena. Some of the activities include music by Joey Doucette, other local singers,
50/50 draw, raffle tickets, quilt tickets, hotel tickets, BBQ, Cavendish Farms Fry Cart, Tim Horton’s coffee, popcorn,
candy apples, face painting, balloons, games, and more. Also this year, we have an inflatable train name Chuggy
Choo-Choo, inflatable obstacle course, celebration bouncy, cookie decorating and a teddy bear clinic. Horse pull start
time is 1:00 p.m. behind the Bicentennial Park. Come out and join in the fun and help support this worthy cause!
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
Now open for the 2011 season. Early season rates will apply. Memberships and golf packages are also available as
are green fees. The first tournament of the season will be on Sunday, May 29th. This is a fund raiser for Relay for Life.
The sign up sheet will be up this week. Get your team together or sign up as a single. There will be more information

TIGNISH TREASURE GIFT SHOP
The Tignish Treasure Gift Shop is looking for good quality hand-crafted items: sewing, knitting, jewelry, local CDs,
paintings, quilts, books or woodwork to leave on confinement. The Gift Shop will be opening for the summer season
