ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES
The hours of operation for the Fishmart are Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday,
from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We have oysters, mussels,
quahogs, fresh frozen bar clams, and fresh fish. We also have live lobsters for the month of August.
UNE SOIRÉE BOURRÉE DE TALENT METTRA FIN À LA SÉRIE DE SPECTACLES
À MONT-CARMEL!
C’est le dimanche 25 août qu’aura lieu le dernier spectacle de la série estivale présentée par la
Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel. Venez assistez aux
performances de Brielle Ansems, Mario Robichaud, Madeleine Albert et Trevor Profitt. Alors que le
spectacle débute à 19 h 00, l’ouverture des portes aura lieu à 18 h 15. À noter que le nombre de
places est limité. Un service de cantine sera disponible et un tirage 50/50 aura lieu au cours de la
soirée. Le coût d’entrée au spectacle est de 7 $ pour les adultes et de 4 $ pour les étudiants. L’entrée
est gratuite pour les enfants d’âge préscolaire.

Sunday, August 25 , will be the last show of the summer series presented by the Coopérative de
développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel. Come watch performances by Brielle Ansems,
Mario Robichaud, Madeleine Albert, and Trevor Profitt. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and show starts at
7:00 p.m. Note that the numbers of seats are limited. A canteen service will be available and a 50/50
raffle will be held during the evening. The cost of entry to the show is $7 for adults and $4 for students.
Admission is free for preschoolers.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTER – NIGHT OF MUSIC
There will be music at the St. Louis Community Center on Sunday, August 25th, at 7:30 p.m.
featuring the Helping Hands Band. Admission is $5. A light lunch will be served. Don’t miss a great
night of music. All proceeds for the upkeep of the Hall.
TIGNISH PUBLIC LIBRARY
Beginning the week of August 25th, the library will be operating under fall hours. These hours are as
follow: Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday closed, Tuesday and Thursday, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30
p.m., Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE ANNUAL MEETING
The Tignish Health Centre’s Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, August 26th, at 7:00 p.m. at the
Tignish Health Centre. There will be refreshments following the meeting. Everyone is welcome.
ARTHRITIS SOCIETY!
Would you like to connect with others who have Arthritis, learn more about Arthritis and pain
management, and experience a great sense of achievement through helping others? If so, become a
leader with The Arthritis Society and make a difference in your community. We’re seeking senior
volunteers to instruct pre-made presentations to members of their communities, beginning in
September. Free training and materials will be provided. It is an excellent opportunity to meet people

LOT 7 CEILIDH
The Lot 7 Ceilidh takes place every Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Hall, in Burton,
Route 14. Entertainment for Thursday, August 29th, will be Edward and Ruth Fitzgerald, Nancy
Butler, Linda Dunn, Wayne & Francis Corrigan, Pam & Lindsay Corrigan, and Monique Pendergast &
Family. On Thursday, September 5th, entertainment will be provided by Big River Band (Peter
Arsenault, Nick Arsenault, Allan Gallant, and Pierre Poirier) and Larry Gautreau. A fun night for all!
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
 Women and men’s night continues on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.
 The GBS Program will be holding its testing day on Thursday, August 29th, beginning with the
first group at 10:00 a.m., followed by the second at 11:00 a.m. After testing, there will be
snacks and little prizes given out.
 Members are reminded to have scores updated in computer for the Club Championship to be held
on Sunday, September 8th. The first round will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 2nd round.
 The 14th Annual Corporate Golf Challenge in aid of the Children’s Wish Foundation will be held
on Sunday, September 15th. Shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Call to book your team at 882-2328 or

The next senior’s dance at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest, in DeBlois, will be on Saturday,

Michael Myers. Cost is $6. Come out for a good time!
KIDS WEST – WELCOMES BACK THEIR FAMILIES
 Wow, it is that time again children……. when school is fast approaching and Kids West playgroups will
start again. Starting September 9th, Kids West will also be offering playgroups in Tignish every Monday
from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Tignish Village Office. Please come join in the FUN!!! We also have
locations in Tyne Valley, O’Leary and Alberton.
 Kids West provides education, support, and hope to children (aged 0-6 years) and their families by
providing awareness of services available to them and by putting into place those services that are
missing in our communities. We offer parent, family and child focused programming, free of charge. The
Kids West Staff are looking forward to having you come play at our centers.

 A special Election Meeting will be held on Monday, September 9th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Boardroom
of the Municipal Office followed by the Council’s Regular Monthly Meeting. For further information,
call 882-2600.
 The Municipal and Recreation Office will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, for Labour Day.
HOVES FAMILY PHYSICIANS CLINIC
The Hoves Family Physicians Clinic Alberton office will be closed from September 18th through to
October 6th inclusive. For anyone that will need refills or any other medical issues dealt with, please do so
before September 18th. We will reopen on Monday, October 7th. The Park Lane Medical Clinic Tignish
office will also be closed. Sorry for any inconvenience.
EC CETERA PROGRAM FOR SENIORS
Ever wonder what doing tai chi is like? Think yoga might be good for you, but hesitant to take a class?
Curious about whether you would benefit from meditating? The Ec Cetera Program offers seniors (age 50
and older) the opportunity to learn more about these and other interesting activities through a series of free
one-session introductory classes in yoga, tai chi, homeopathy medicine, safety, meditation, message
circles, nutrition, and Myers-Briggs personality. The program will be held in DeBlois on Mondays,
September 23rd and 30th and October 7th, 21st, and 28th, at 9:30 a.m. To register, contact the P.E.I.
Senior Citizens’ Federation at 1-877-368-9008. There is a limit of 20 seats. Seats are filled on a first
come, first served basis. Due to space limitations, individuals can only register themselves and must
commit to all sessions. The Ec Cetera Program is funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons
for Seniors Program.
