ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES
The hours of operation for the Fishmart are Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday to
Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We have
oysters, mussels, quahogs, fresh frozen bar clams, and fresh fish. We will also have live lobsters
for the months of July and August.

KIDS WEST SUMMER FAMILY FUN TIME – JULY AND AUGUST
 Hey children and parents! Summer is here! Kids West is back in full swing this summer with
our Family Fun Camps and so much more. Our staff has worked very hard to create a
Children’s Garden and Play Area especially for toddlers. The area is located behind our central
office on 630 Main Street, in Alberton. Feel free to stop by anytime between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m., Monday to Friday and enjoy.
 Kids West provides education, support, and hope to children (aged 0-6 years) and their families
by providing awareness of services available to them and by putting into place those services
that are missing in our communities. We offer parent, family, and child focused programming,
free of charge. You are more than welcome at our centres!

ARTHRITIS SOCIETY
Would you like to connect with others who have Arthritis, learn more about Arthritis and pain
management, and experience a great sense of achievement through helping others? If so,
become a leader with The Arthritis Society and make a difference in your community. We’re
seeking senior volunteers to instruct pre-made presentations to members of their communities,
beginning in September. Free training and materials will be provided. It is an excellent opportunity
to meet people and help other Islanders commit to a lifestyle of healthy aging! For more

ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
 Women’s Night continues on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Men’s Night on Tuesdays at 6:30
p.m. On the following two Mondays, July 22nd and July 29th, at 6:00 p.m., Mark Roberts will
give a half-hour of free instruction before play begins.
 The GBS Junior Program continues on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and Sundays at 1:00
p.m.
 The Lucky Leprechaun Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 3rd. Shotgun start at
1:00 p.m. Four person best ball, barbeque, 50/50, and prizes to follow. $10,000 HOLE-INONE PRIZE. Come and try your Irish luck. Register now!
 Mark your calendar for the 14th Annual Gerard Gallant Memorial in aid of the Heart & Stroke
Foundation on Sunday, August 18th. Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. (Please note date and time

MOTORCYCLE RUN
There will be a Motorcycle Run in aid of the Tignish Health Centre and MADD (Mothers Against
Drunk Drivers) on Sunday, August 18th. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the Run
starting at 1:00 p.m. from the Alberton Rink. The Run will end at the Tignish Health Centre with
a barbeque to follow. Hope you can come out and support these two great causes!
THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel will be presenting their
summer series of concerts at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, every Sunday evening until August
25th. Entertainment for Sunday, July 21st, will be Max Keenlyside, Patricia & Marcella Richard,
Keelin Wedge, and step-dancers Isabelle & Danielle Saunders, Keeana Arsenault, Brooklin
Richard, and Madison Simpson. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for students, and free for preschoolers. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and show starts at 7:00 p.m. To view the entire summer’s

ORGAN RECITALS
There will be organ recitals every Wednesday in July at 7:30 p.m., at St. Simon & St. Jude
Church, in Tignish. This week will feature the classical choir, Coro Dolce, under the music
direction of Carl B. Mathis.
WASHER TOSS TOURNAMENT
A Washer Toss Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, at the Miminegash Ball Diamond
(on the right side of the Harbour). Registration will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cost
is $10 per person and you pick your own team. Cash prizes will be given out. There will be a
50/50, barbeque, and beverages on site. Come on out, have some fun, and show your support
for the Miminegash Fire Department!
SENIOR’S DANCE - AGES 45+
The next senior’s dance at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest, in DeBlois, will be held on
Saturday, July 27th, from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Joey and
Joe Doucette. Admission is $6.
DANSE DES AÎNÉS - ÂGES 45+

TIGNISH SENIORS HOME
The Tignish Seniors Home is currently accepting resumes for a part-time/casual cook. Training is
provided and wages are negotiable. Please drop resume off to LoriAnne at 116 MacLeod Lane, in
Tignish.

Lobster on the Wharf - Tignish Style event itself. Your volunteer services were much appreciated!
We would also like to thank everyone who participated in the contests and came out to enjoy
great food and entertainment as part of the First Annual Lobster on the Wharf - Tignish Style. We
hope to see you all again at next year's event, which we plan to be bigger and better!
COMMUNITY OF MIMINEGASH
The Miminegash Community Centre and Fire Hall is an EMO (Emergency Measures
Organization) site where you can go for help in the event of an emergency or disaster such as a
flood, power outage, ice storm, etc. This is a designate area where people can go to obtain first
aid, water, and other necessities during an emergency.
IRISH HERITAGE FESTIVAL OF P.E.I. 2013 IS HAPPENING AUGUST 1ST TO 4TH!
Come join us for a weekend of celebration, laughter, and fun during the Irish Heritage Festival of
P.E.I., Thursday, August 1st, to Sunday, August 4th. Some of our activities include a Common
Ball Tournament, Pub nights featuring local bands, 5 km & 10 km Fun Run, Leprechaun Golf
Tournament, Stompin’ Tom Tribute, and much more! Great fun, great prizes, and great people all

ST. ANTHONY’S PARISH CHURCH PICNIC
The St. Anthony’s Parish Church Picnic will take place on Sunday, August 4th, beginning with an
outdoor mass at 11:00 a.m. Serving of hot roast beef dinners will begin at 12 noon. In case of
in climate weather, meals will still be served. Join us for a day of fun for the whole family including
games, hay rides, bingo, yard sale, auction, and lots of music. Rain date for the events will be on
Monday, August 5th, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
