COMMEMORATION - DEPORTATION 1758
A DRAMA PRESENTATION on the tragedy of the 1758 Island Acadian Deportation, with about 40 actors directed by
Eileen Chiasson-Pendergast, will be presented at Westisle Composite High, Elmsdale. In FRENCH : Sunday, October
26th at 7 :00 p.m. and in ENGLISH : Sunday, November 2nd at 7 :00 p.m. Admission: Adult: $6, Couple: $10, Youth
(13-17): $2, Child (0-12): free.
DÉPORTATION 1758 - COMMÉMORATION
Une PIÈCE DE THÉÂTRE sur la tragédie de la déportation des Acadiens de l’Île en 1758 avec une quarantaine
d’acteurs dirigée par Eileen Chiasson-Pendergast, sera présenté à Westisle Composite High, Elmsdale. En FRANÇAIS:

TIGNISH HEALTH CENTER
Dr. Sethi will be away from his office on Monday, November 10th. He will have regular office hours
Wednesday, November 12th.
The Health Centre will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Remembrance Day.
The Flu Vaccine has arrived at Dr. Sethi’s office. Anyone who received their flu vaccine from Dr. Sethi in the
previous years and want to make an appointment can do so by calling 882-2260.
For the month of October, the bargain basement will be having a $3.00 per bag sale. Halloween is coming soon,
so check out what we have for great costumes at a great price!

The Tignish Seniors’ Home will be hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Night on Friday, November 7th beginning at 8:00
p.m. at the Tignish Legion for all those who have volunteered (plus their spouses) at the Home over the past year.
Music by Vincent, Dennis, Terry and Irene. Refreshments will be provided.

There will be a Special Public Commemoration of the Island Deportation in canoes and Acadian costumes on the Tignish
River (Chiasson Rd.), Thursday, October 30th at 1:00. FREE.

SUPPORT GROUP
Has your marriage fallen apart? Are you suffering from the pain, anguish and hurt of separation and
divorce? Confused? Angry? Would you like to feel better? The Parish of St. Simon & St. Jude is offering
a program (non-denominational) to help separated and divorced men and women to recover from the
devastating effects that a marriage break-up can bring and to offer a chance for healing. Sessions will occur
in Tignish and/or Alberton. For further information, please call the Parish Office at 882-2049.

The annual general meeting of the Association du Musée acadien de l’Î.-P.-É. will be held in French on
Tuesday, October 28, at 7 p.m., at the Acadian Museum of P.E.I., in Miscouche. Guest speaker will be Mrs.
Darlene Arsenault, cultural animator and school librarian. Her talk is entitled “Notre héritage: une richesse
à s’approprier”.
The meeting will end with the presentation of the Award La Petite Nyctale 2008.
