TIGNISH CREDIT UNION
Tignish Credit Union and Alberton Branch will be celebrating Credit Union Day on Thursday, October
21st. Stop in for some refreshments, prizes and treat bags for the children. Also, come in and fill out
a ballot for a chance to win the grand prize worth $150.00.
Credit Unions depend on the volunteer efforts of many people. To recognize those who have served
our communities well, each year we invite your nominations for “Credit Union Member of the Year”.
Complete guidelines and application forms can be picked-up at the Tignish or Alberton Credit Unions
during normal business hours. Deadline for nominations is closing time on Friday, October 29th.

“THE WINDS OF CHANGE, DOWN AT THE SHORE”
“The Winds of Change, Down at the Shore”, a variety show with skits, story-telling, music, etc. Dates: Sunday,
October 17th at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.00
for adults and $12.00 for children 12 years and under. Limited seating - by reservations only. Call Ann at 8823836 to reserve. Location: Tignish Shore Community Centre. Serving dessert, tea, coffee and juice at
intermission. All your favorite performers will be back, so don’t miss it! Project partially funded by the
Goverment of Canada.
“WEST PRINCE FALL INTO CHRISTMAS”
“West Prince Fall into Christmas” hosted by Antrim Sisters and Simply Primitive. Fall - Christmas
demonstration show held on Monday, October 18th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Hall,
Bloomfield. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available at Antrim Sisters, Simply Primitive and O’Leary Guardian
Drugs. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the West Prince Caring Cupboard. There will be door prizes
and more! Bring two non-perishable food items for more chances to win prizes! Advance tickets for this event
only!

St. Felix C.W.L. monthly meeting will be held on Monday, October 18th at the St. Felix Community Centre at
7:30 p.m. Members are asked to donate $2.00 for the “Thinking of You” Program in aid of the Prince County
Hospital.
ANNUAL “ALL YOU CAN EAT”
The Miminegash Firemenettes will be having their 3rd Annual “All You Can Eat” on Sunday, October 24th
starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Miminegash Fire Hall. Cost per person is $10.00. Tickets can be purchased from
any of the Firemenettes, Deagle’s Groceries, Tremblay’s Groceries and F.J. Shea & Son. All proceeds will go
to the Miminegash Firemen Equipment Fund. Thank you for your continued support!

It is that time of year when the weather can be very unpredictable ie: frost. On mornings when the
ground is white, we have to wait until the frost has lifted, so if you are not sure, you can call before
coming to golf.
COMMUNITY OF TIGNISH
Halloween curfew for the Community will be 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31st.
CARDIO/ZUMBA CLASSES
There will be a cardio/Zumba class every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. starting October
19th at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest, DeBlois. The cost is $5.00 per class. If you are interested, please

RUG HOOKING EXHIBITION AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM UNTIL OCTOBER 31
There are only a few weeks left to see the magnificent hooked rugs on display at the Acadian Museum, in
Miscouche. The exhibition features 76 rugs hooked by twenty Acadian artisans from across the Island. The
exhibition is on display until Sunday, October 31st. Visiting hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., and Sundays, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free; however, donations are appreciated.
EXPOSITION DE TAPIS HOUQUÉS AU MUSÉE ACADIEN JUSQU’AU 31 OCTOBRE
Il y a seulement quelques semaines de reste pour voir la magnifique exposition de tapis houqués au Musée
acadien, à Miscouche. On peut y voir 76 tapis houqués par une vingtaine d’artisan(e)s acadien(ne)s provenant
de tous les coins de l’Île. L’exposition est en montre jusqu’au dimanche 31 octobre. Les heures d’ouverture
sont du lundi au vendredi, de 9h30 à 17h, et les dimanches, de 13h à 16h. L’entrée est gratuite; mais les dons
sont appréciés.

BENEFIT - SKERRY
In aid of Cindy Skerry, married to Trevor Skerry, daughter of Wayne & Gaytane Gallant of Miminegash. Cindy
will be travelling to Costa Rica in November for M.S. liberation treatment therapy. Family and friends are invited
to attend a benefit to help cover the $20,000 cost of the surgery and travel expenses. The Benefit will be held
at the Alberton Community Center on Monday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. There will be local talent, items for
auction, a fudge sale, 50/50 draw and lotteries. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
HALLOWEEN BINGO
Le Centre l’Arc-en-ciel, Pre-school Center, is organizing a family Halloween Bingo as a fundraiser for the Center
