CAISSE POPULAIRE DE TIGNISH
Comme rapporté à notre réunion annuelle, votre caisse populaire a eu une très bonne année en 2007-2008. Cette année
est résultat du excellent support de vous, les propriétaires. De plus du 3% de dividende sur les parts, nous avons payé
un intérêt dépargne bonis de 15.5% sur des dépôts à terme, dépôt régulier et RÉER. Nous avons aussi payé un rabais
d’intérêt de prêt de 5.5% sur les prêts. En total, plus que 1.1$ millions était repayé à vous. Nous vous remercions de
votre support, et comme toujours, promis que n’importe quel gains sera retourné à vous comme propriétaire.
TIGNISH CREDIT UNION
As reported at our Annual Meeting, your Credit Union had a very successful year in 2007-2008. This came as a result
of the excellent support from you, our owners. Over and above the 3% dividend on shares, we have paid a savings
interest bonus of 15.5% on term deposits, regular deposits and RRSP’s. We have also paid a loan interest rebate of 5.5%
on loans. In total, more than $1.1 million was paid back to you. We thank you for your support and, as always, promise
that any extra earnings will be returned to you as owners.

The Golden Slipper Friends of the Tignish Seniors Home will be hosting a Pantry Sale on Friday, December 12th at the
Link (Tignish Co-op). Anyone interested in donating baked goods can do so by dropping items off at the Link that

UPGRADE YOUR EDUCATION THIS WINTER
Adult education classes to upgrade and work towards your G.E.D. diploma starting at Tignish Dalton Centre from January
5th to April 24th (daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Open to all adults 18 years and over who have been out of the regular
school system for at least one year. No cost to you. To apply, call 853-3511 now to be ready to start in January, 2009.

NOËL DE CHEZ NOUS AU MUSÉE ACADIEN
Le public est invité au “Noël de chez nous” au Musée acadien, à Miscouche, le dimanche 7 décembre à 14h. Le
programme comprendra la chorale de Mont-Carmel suivie par des airs de violon et des par de gigue. Le public sera
ensuite invité à chanter des chants de Noël. C’est aussi une occasion de visiter l’exposition “La Déportation des Acadiens
de l’Île Saint-Jean”. Cette exposition se termine le 31 décembre. Un “réveillon” suivra. Entrée gratuite; dons appréciés.
AN ACADIAN CHRISTMAS AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM
The public is invited to “An Acadian Christmas” at the Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, on Sunday, December 7th at
2:00 p.m. The program will include the Mont-Carmel Choir followed by some fiddling and step-dancing. The audience
will then be invited to join in a Christmas carolling. This is also an opportunity to visit the exhibition “The Deportation of
the Acadians of Île Saint-Jean”. This exhibition closes on December 31st. A “réveillon” of festive foods will be served.
Free admission; donations appreciated.
NEW YEAR’S EVE DANCE
There will be a New Year’s Eve Dance at the Palmer Road Community Centre. Music by “Seldom Seen”, party favors
and snacks. Admission is $15.00 per person. More information to come.

CAREER BRIDGES
The next Career Bridges Program (a vocational assessment and career planning program) will begin in O’Leary on
Monday, January 5th. The deadline is December 15th. For more information, please phone 859-2039. Funding
assistance may be available to eligible individuals. Funding by the Canada/P.E.I. Market Agreement.
ST. LOUIS T.O.P.S.
St. Louis TOPS meets every Monday at the St. Louis Community Hall. Weigh-in is from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. and our
meeting is from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Like to see old members returning and new members are always welcomed!

a special thank you to those who brought food to our home and prepared the meal after the funeral mass and to those
