Rules and regulation of Photo contest FARM
From October 25th, 2013 to March 31st, 2014
“Focus on the cities”
The Foundation for world agriculture and rurality around the world (FARM), a foundation
recognized as of public interest, hosted by Crédit Agricole SA, 12, Place des Etats-Unis, 92127
Montrouge Cedex, hereafter referred to as « organiser », organizes from October 25th 2013to March
31st, 2014, a photography contest, hereafter referred to as « contest », according to the present rules
and regulations.
Article 1: Terms of participation
The contest is opened to any physical person of age (according to French law) who is a national of
an African country:
Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cenral African
Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt,
Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya,
Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique,
Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles,
Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia,
Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Participants must agree to verification of his or her identity, age, postal address and honesty of his
or her participation. Any false declaration, false age or address indication will lead to immediate
disqualification.
Participating in the contest implies full acceptation, without any reserves, of the present rules and
regulations. Failing to respect the rules and regulations will lead to disqualification and cancel the
potential attribution of any award.
Article 2: Participation requirements
2.1 The so-called « participant » here designates any person submitting one to three photographs on
FARM's contest registration internet page. Participants must:
 sign up by filling out the specific form indicating last name, first name, email, nationality,
telephone and complete postal address;

 upload one to three (3) photographs in the indicated format and size. The submitted
photograph(s) should be an artistic interpretation of the contest's theme: “Feeding the cities :
an opportunity for family farming ?”;
 then confirm their application. An email acknowledging reception will be sent to every
participant.
Submitting photographs will only be possible from October 19 th, 2013 up to March 31st, 2014
midnight (French time).
Participants recognize that:
 they have personally created the submitted photograph;
 they are the only legal owner of the submitted piece;
 they have not previously granted exploitation rights to any company or entity.
2.2 Any submitted content is subject to moderation. The organizer is authorized to disqualify
submitted photographs not abiding by the present rules and regulations, especially images
conveying pornographic or racist content, compromising human dignity, inciting to violence,
defamatory or in violation of the law. Content will be shared with the jury only after verification.
2.3 The participant authorizes the organizer to exploit downloaded content for the duration of one
(1) year starting from March 31st, 2014. Any use and promotion of the photographs outside the
contest will be notified to its author, whose approval must be granted. The name of the author will
figure on any use of the photograph.
Participant authorizes the organizer to make use of their first name, last name and city of residence
in any promotional event, on the organizer's website and in any publication, without permitting any
right to claim remuneration, other than the eventual prize won.
The photographs will not be used in any commercial way (sale) by FARM.
Article 3: Prize
3.1 A selected jury will be composed of Development professionals and Photography and
Communication professionals. After March 31st, 2014, the jury will select ten (10) photographs
among all the received pictures. Winners will be chosen after verification of their eligibility to the
contest. A specific attention will be paid to coherence with the suggested theme, esthetic quality and
originality of the photographs.
These photographs will be printed, framed and exhibited by FARM at events organized by the
foundation.
Among these ten photographs, two laureates will be designated by the jury. Both will receive an
prize of € 300 each.
3.2 Participants whose photographs are selected will be informed no later than April 18th, 2014, on
the email address submitted during the application process. The winner must answer before April
30th, 2014. If no answer is received, the winner loses his or her prize, which will go the next

selected competitor, who will be informed in the same way.
Winners will be announced on FARM's website before May 15 th, 2014 and their photographs will
be presented online.
3.3 The organizer cannot be held responsible for sending an endowment to an incorrect address
resulting from negligence on part of the participant. If a prize cannot be handed over to their
recipient, independently from the organizer's will, it will remain once and for all property of the
organizer.
Article 4: Contest without purchase obligation
Entering the contest is free but requires a valid email.
Article 5: Rules and regulation submission
5.1 The present rules and regulations are submitted to SAMAIN and RICARD Office, associated
court bailiffs, located at 31-33, rue Deparcieux, 75014 Paris, France.
5.2 The rules and regulation will be available for consultation at the above-mentioned address
throughout the entire duration of the contest. The rules and regulations are available at no expenses
to any person submitting a request by mail to the organizer.
Article 6: Personal information
6.1 Participants are here reminded that in order to take part in the contest, specific personal
information must be submitted. This information will be electronically registered and stored and are
necessary to their entry to the contest, choice of winners and attribution and reception of prize. This
information is intended for the organizer, and will be passed over to technical providers as well as
service providers in charge of delivering endowments. However, this information will not be shared
to any commercial companies or survey institutes.
6.2 In application of the law n° 78-17 of January 6th, 1978 regarding digital information and
freedoms, participants dispose of the right to access, modify and delete personal information as well
as the right to exercise control over the use of this information by the organizer. To exercise these
rights, participants must write a letter to the organizer's address.
Article 7: Contentions
7.1 Participation implies knowledge and acceptation of the characteristics and limits of the Internet,
absence of protection of data from eventual misuses and hacks as well as risks of contamination by
eventual viruses in circulation.
The organizer declines any responsibility in case of misuse or incident linked to computer use,
Internet access, maintenance or dysfunction of the site's servers, phone line or any other technical
connexion as well as submission of applications to a wrong or incomplete address. Participants are
responsible for taking all appropriate measures to protect from harm personal data and/or software
stored on personal digital equipment.
7.2 The organizer prohibits any participant to modify the contest's organizational measures by any
possible means, especially with the aim of modifying its outcome, partially or completely.

7.3 The organizer reserves itself the right to disqualify any person not conforming to the present
rules and regulations. Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of the entire set of rules
and regulations. Any incorrect or false statement or fraud will lead to immediate disqualification of
the participant.
7.4 Solicitations, oral or written, regarding the interpretation or application of the present rules and
regulations, organization and modalities of the contest as well as the list of winners will not be
accepted. The organizer reserves itself the right, for any possible reason, to cancel, delay, interrupt
or prolong the contest or to modify the modalities of the rules and regulations, in respect with the
present document. If, independently from its will, it would have to apply this right, its responsibility
cannot be engaged.
7.5 To be taken into account, eventual disagreements in relation with the contest must be addressed
in written form to the organizer's address ninety days (90 days) at the latest after the submission
deadline. In case of a persisting disagreement on the application or interpretation of the present
rules and regulations, and in the absence of an amicable settlement of dispute, any contention will
be deferred to the competent tribunals under the conditions of ordinary law.
7.6 The present rules and regulations are subjected to French law.
The present rules and regulations has been drawn up and certified in the French language.
If any translation is made hereof, the French version shall exclusively govern in case of any
difference over interpretation of the provisions of the present rules and regulation or of contentions
between the organizer and participants.
