Under French Law, linked to the country’s
Christian heritage, most shops cannot open on
Sunday!
« touristic zone of exceptional affluence »
Given its position, this was a real problem for
the Champs Elysées
1994 : thanks among other things to the
Comité’s action, new exceptions allowed:
The Champs-Elysées can freely open shops
when dedicated to sports or cultural cultural
activities,
August 11th, 2009, everybody can now open
on sundays!
The action continues in the Evening!
2014: the Comité is acting to gain the right for shops to
open until 24 PM and not 21 PM as now!
