DIRECTOR GENERAL
Organizational context
The Comité de gestion offers technical, administrative, and financial services to the five school
boards on the Island of Montreal. It is responsible for imposing and collecting the school tax
within the territory served by these school boards and distributing the income derived from this
tax according to the rules it establishes for allocating the school tax proceeds for educational
catch-up measures in underprivileged areas. The Comité de gestion is also responsible for
negotiating loans and meeting the cash flow needs of the school boards on the Island of
Montreal. It also offers pooled services: a risk management program, a cooperative purchasing
system, and legal services.
Mandate
The Director general of the Comité de gestion is fully responsible for managing all of the
activities, programs, and resources of the organization and monitoring the implementation of
member decisions in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
Required education and experience
- University degree in a relevant field of study
- Ten years’ relevant experience, including five years in a management position
- Fluency in spoken and written French and good knowledge of English
Remuneration and conditions of employment
In accordance with the “Regulation respecting certain conditions of employment of senior
executives of school boards and of the Comité de gestion de la taxe scolaire de l’île de Montréal”
and the management policy governing working conditions of managers of the Comité de gestion,
Salary scale grade 13.
