KNIT-ALONG ADVENT BABY BLANKET/TH
THE KNIT-ALONG ADVENT BABY BLANKET/THROW WEEK 4 CONGRATULATIONS you have now completed all the squares for your baby blanket or larger throw! 1 THE KNIT-ALONG ADVENT BABY BLANKET/THROW WEEK 4 Use the diagram to make up your project using mattress stitch for garter stitch as seen in the photograph below. The squares within the red outline are for the baby blanket. With the right sides of the knitting facing you, insert the needle through the bottom of the ‘knot’ on one edge and then through the top of the corresponding ‘knot’ on the other edge. Continue to do this from edge to edge, pulling the yarn through to form a flat seam. You can sew up your blanket or throw either in horizontal strips or in vertical strips, the outcome is the same. Personally having tried both ways, I found it easier to seam vertical strips. Next week I will show you some ideas for embellishing your blanket. 2
