Au Revoir et Merci, Mdle Jakab
We will soon be saying good-bye to Mdle Debbie Jakab, our Grade 4 teacher who is retiring December
31st. Mdle Jakab has taught at Edward Johnson for 5 years. Her previous schools were Victory P.S.,
James McQueen P.S. and Elora P.S. Mdle Jakab has inspired many students over the years with her
artistic talents; dance, choirs, recorder and drama clubs have always been a large part of her teaching.
She is a very caring teacher and will be very much missed by the staff and students at Edward Johnson.
Our best wishes to you in your future, Mdle Jakab!

Dates to Remember
Thursday, December 19 is the last day of school before the holidays. There is no school for students on
Friday, December 20.
The first day back is Monday, January 6, 2014.
Dress for the Weather!
Some students are coming to school without snow pants, tuques, etc. Our students are outside for 2
recesses of 25 minutes as well other outdoor activities. Please send them to school dressed for the cold
weather. Extra socks and mittens in the backpack are a great idea. Thank you!
Congratulations to Neve!
Congratulations to Neve in Mme Anselmini-Lofton’s class whose design will be featured on the Season’s
Greetings card of the Director of Education and Chair of the Board. The card will be on display at the
school office.
School Council
Many thanks to our hard working and imaginative School Council for your efforts this term: new K
playground, pizza, subs, Acorn cards, Holiday Market and Michael Reist presentation! There is much
more to come! Bravo!
Many thanks to all Edward Johnson staff members and parents for your support of our school. All the
best to you and your families for a joyous holiday season!
