Students husk corn for the annual Corn Roast.
Ready, set, go! The cross-country
runners from John Adam went to a
competition at Mont Saint Bruno Park.
They had to run 1.6 km. It was two
turns around two lakes to arrive at the
finish line. Some were speeding and
some were running not too fast to be
able to keep their energy to finish the
race.

What’s yellow, buttery, salty and
yummy to eat? Corn! John Adam
students had the chance to eat this
corn at school on September 7th at
lunchtime. This is an annual event to
welcome us back to school. The
firemen made the best corn we ever
ate. We ate the corn in the gym. It was
a great way to start our school year!

Shoes…check! All set for the Cross Country Run!
The race was pretty tough for the
runners; some had to walk to gain back
their energy. Our 2 best finishes were a
Grade 4 student who finished 3rd and a
Grade 5 student who finished in 6th
place. THANKS to Ms. Danielle for
organizing the whole race for the
cross-country runners!!!

Walk, Jog, Run for Terry Fox
Students, staff and parent volunteers from John Adam proudly participate in the annual Terry Fox Run.
Alexia, Julian and Olivier
John Adam participated in the annual
Terry Fox Run on September 27, 2012
at Boardman Park. It was organized by
Ms. Danielle. All John Adam students,
staff, teachers and parent volunteers
ran. After the run we had cheese and
apples donated by Loblaws.
Our goal was to raise $3986.75 and if
we made it, the teachers and staff
members would have to wear colour
code and all John Adam students would
have a dress-down day. We made
$5917.04! On Friday, October 5, 2012
we had our dress-down day.
JAM Jabber!
The students in Ms. Rebekah’s class
were asked if they liked the Terry Fox
Run. They responded “Yes!” After the
race, they said their legs were hurting.
Thirteen of the students said they
didn’t find it too long, but seven said
that it was a bit too long.
Dans la classe de Mme. Isabelle,
quatre élèves trouvaient que la course
était trop longue. La majorité de la
classe était sure que nous allions avoir
assez d’argent. La classe au complet
était fière de leurs grands efforts.
La classe de Mme. Colombo a été
interviewé avant la Course Terry Fox.
Seulement un élève a cru que nous
allions réussir notre défi.
Les élèves de Mme. Francine ont été
demandés s’ils avaient marché ou
couru et ils ont dit les deux. Tous les
élèves voulaient la refaire, mais ils ont
dit qu’ils avaient vraiment mal aux
jambes.
Ms. Danielle had a lot to do! First, she
needed to hang up posters, send
reminder sponsor sheets, get a sound
system and count all of the money.
She was extremely proud of us! We
passed our goal by $1931.29. That’s
awesome!
Yummy, Yum, Yum, Little Treats to Eat!!!
Alyssa, Jessy and Jordin
The students from both Grade 5/6 French Immersion classes made some yummy
treats for the bake sale. It was held in the classes of Mme. Columbo and Mme.
Caroline on the 20th of September. The students raised $600 in total. The money is
for their field trip to a camp in February.
