"Belgian legislation provides that inspection of imported cheese shall be
carried out by officials of the National Milk Board who visit regularly the main
import offices. Imported cheese may not be cleared for home consumption unless
previously inspected by the National Milk Board. Samples may be taken in the best
possible conditions of health and hygiene, above all when the nature of the good does
not conform to the description mentioned in the import licence."

"Italian legislation, like the legislation of all other countries, provides in
general that customs officers, when unable to determine the characteristics, nature
or composition of the goods submitted for examination, shall take samples thereof and
send them to the relevant chemical laboratory with a view to determining the
classification of the goods."

"La législation belge prévoit qu'un contrôle des fromages importés est effectué
par les agents de l'Office national du lait qui visitent régulièrement les principaux
bureaux d'importation. Il est interdit de mettre dans le commerce intérieur du
fromage importé si ce produit n'a pas été au préalable contrôlé par l'Office national
du lait. Des échantillons peuvent être prélevés dans les meilleures conditions
d'hygiène et de salubrité, principalement lorsque la nature de la marchandise n'est
pas conforme a la description reprise sur la licence d'importation."

''Lalégislation italienne prévoit en général, comme dans tous les autres pays, que
les services de douane, lorsqu'ils ne peuvent déterminer les caractéristiques, la
nature ou la composition des marchandises qui leur sont présentées, doivent prélever
des échantillons et les envoyer au laboratoire chimique compétent, afin de pouvoir
déterminer la classification de la marchandise."
