6th European Artistic Gymnastics Championships
THE STARTING LIST IS AVAILABLE!
Montpellier (FRA) and Lausanne (SUI) / UEG Office, February 7th, 2015: Today, the
Men’s and Women’s Technical Committees of the European Union of Gymnastics
(UEG) and the organisers of the French Gymnastics Federation (FFG) have carried
out the drawing of lots of the gymnasts participating in the 6th European Artistic
Gymnastics Championships, which will take place from April 13th to 19th, 2015 in
Montpellier.
This draw was carried out in the Park & Suites Arena, the competition venue, in the
presence of the UEG Technical Committee Presidents, Yvette Brasier (FRA) and
Jacky Wischnia (ISR), representing respectively women’s and men’s artistic
gymnastics and their members.
When the registrations were closed, 39 federations and 303 gymnasts, 182 men and
121 women, were entered. All will participate in a qualifying competition (CI) that will
determine the 24 finalists of the All-Around competition (CII) as well as the eight
participants per apparatus in the Apparatus finals (CIII), i.e. 6 apparatus for the men
and 4 for the women.
The UEG President Georges Guelzec was present too at this draw and
explained: «This competition will be interesting on more than one behalf as it will
inform us on the situation of the European hierarchy several months before the
World Championships in Glasgow (GBR), the first qualifying step for the teams on
the way to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.»
The President of the FFG, James Blateau, said being honoured to welcome on
French soil the elite of European gymnastics. «Numerous professionals say that the
venue in Montpellier is one of the most prestigious and efficient talking about
installation, welcome of the gymnasts and the media as well as comfort for the
spectators and I am very pleased about this.» He adds: « I am glad about the support
of the local, regional and national authorities and the exemplary participation of our
volunteers.»

6èmes Championnats d’Europe de gymnastique artistique
LA STARTING LIST EST CONNUE !
Montpellier (FRA) et Lausanne (SUI) / Bureau de l’UEG, le 7 février 2015: Les
Comités techniques masculins et féminins de l’Union Européenne de Gymnastique
(UEG) et les organisateurs de la Fédération Française de Gymnastique (FFG) ont
procédé ce jour au tirage au sort des gymnastes participants aux 6èmes
Championnats d’Europe artistique, qui auront lieu à Montpellier, du 13 au 19 avril
2015.
Ce tirage au sort a eu lieu au Park & Suites Arena, site des compétitions, en
présence des présidents des comités techniques de l’UEG, Mme Yvette Brasier
(FRA) et Jacky Wischnia (ISR), pour respectivement la gymnastique artistique
féminine et masculine et de leurs membres.
A la clôture des inscriptions, 39 fédérations et 303 gymnastes, 182 hommes et 121
femmes, ont été enregistrés. Toutes et tous participeront à un concours de
qualifications (CI) qui déterminera d’une part les 24 finalistes du Concours individuel
multiple (CII) et les huit participants à chacun des engins de la finale du Concours
par spécialité (CIII), soit six pour les hommes et quatre pour les femmes, d’autre
part.
Présent à ce tirage au sort, le Président de l’UEG, Georges Guelzec devait
préciser : « Cette compétition sera intéressant à plus d’un titre, dans la mesure où
elle nous donnera un état de la hiérarchie européenne, à quelques mois du mondial
de Glasgow (GBR), première étape qualificative pour les équipes sur le chemin des
Jeux de Rio de Janeiro 2016. »
Pour sa part, le Président de la FFG, James Blateau s’est déclaré honoré d’accueillir
sur son sol l’élite de la gymnastique européenne. « De l’avis de nombreux
professionnels, le site de Montpellier est l’un des plus prestigieux et performants en
termes d’installations, d’accueil pour les gymnastes et les médias et de confort pour
les spectateurs et je m’en réjouis. » Et d’ajouter : « Je me félicite du soutien des
autorités locales, régionales, nationales et de la participation exemplaire de nos
volontaires. »
