The UEG Executive meets in Lausanne
2017 RENDEZ-VOUS TAKEN IN THE COUNTRY OF NADIA COMANECI !
Lausanne (SUI), January 26th, 2015: During a meeting in the Olympic Capital of
Lausanne (SUI), the Executive Committee of the European Union of Gymnastics
(UEG), chaired by the French Georges Guelzec, has taken important decisions
regarding the structures and the calendar.
The delegates have voted for Bucharest (ROU) to host their 7th European
Championships in men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics from April 10th to 17th,
2017.
Present in Lausanne to defend its bid, the President of the Romanian Federation
of Gymnastics, Adrian Stoica, was very pleased with this choice in the name « …
of the entire country that lives for gymnastics since generations and the legends of
which have conquered the entire world! » He added that he is looking forward to
welcoming the elite of European gymnastics in the country of Nadia Comaneci.
This championship will be held in a sports complex which will be financed to the
amount of 80 million Euro by the Romanian state and the city of Bucharest. This
event will also mark the 60th anniversary of the creation of Women’s European
Championships, the first of which was organised in Bucharest in 1957.
Other events have been allotted. The 9th European Aerobic Championships will be
organised in the town of Elvas (POR); in October 2016, the 11th European
TeamGym Championships will be held in Maribor, Slovenia.
The UEG in shape
President Guelzec, who is also candidate for the FIG presidency in 2016, is very
pleased with the positive financial results in 2014. « The UEG is once again
independent financially and can consider its development with optimism. » He then
confirmed that in 2015, a particular effort will be made regarding communication,
not only internally but also with regard to the media. « After the 2014 symposiums
and the respective considerations, we are now acting » did he add presenting the
2015 media plan to his members.
In November 2015, in Bratislava (SVK), the UEG will organise its ordinary General
Assembly and will welcome the new federations of Kosovo (KOS) and Bosnia
Herzegovina (BIH). The UEG will then count 50 member federations, i.e. more
than a third of the federations affiliated to the FIG which counts 142.

LE RENDEZ-VOUS EST PRIS AU PAYS DE NADIA COMANECI EN 2017!
Lausanne (SUI), le 26 janvier 2015 : Réuni dans la capitale olympique Lausanne
(SUI), le Comité Exécutif de l’Union Européenne de Gymnastique (UEG) sous la
présidence du français Georges Guelzec, a pris d’importantes décisions affectant à
la fois les structures et le calendrier.
Ainsi, les délégués ont plébiscité Bucarest (ROU) pour y organiser leurs 7èmes
championnats d’Europe de gymnastique artistique masculine et féminine, du 10 au
17 avril 2017.
Présent à Lausanne pour y défendre sa candidature, le Président de la Fédération
roumaine de gymnastique, Adrian Stoica, s’est félicité de ce choix au nom « …de
tout un pays qui vit pour la gymnastique depuis des générations et dont les
légendes ont conquis le monde entier ! » Et d’ajouter se réjouir de recevoir le
meilleur de la gymnastique européenne au Pays de Nadia Comaneci.
Ce championnat aura lieu dans un complexe sportif qui sera financé à hauteur de
80 mios d’Euros par l’Etat roumain et la Ville de Bucarest. L’événement marquera
également le 60ème anniversaire de la création des championnats d’Europe
féminins, dont le premier a eu lieu précisément à Bucarest en 1957.
D’autres événements ont été attribués. Les 9èmes Championnats d’Europe de
gymnastique aérobic de novembre 2015 ont été attribués à la ville de Elvas (POR).

En octobre 2016, les 11èmes Championnats d’Europe de TeamGym auront lieu
dans la station slovène de Maribor.
L’UEG en forme.
Le Président Guelzec, par ailleurs candidat lui-même à la présidence de la FIG en
2016, s’est réjoui des résultats financiers positifs de l’exercice 2014. « L’UEG
retrouve son indépendance financière et peut envisager son développement avec
optimisme. » Il a ensuite confirmé qu’en 2015, un effort particulier sera porté sur la
communication tant à l’interne de l’Union, qu’à l’endroit des médias. « Après les
symposiums de 2014 et les réflexions qui y ont été menées, nous sommes
désormais dans le domaine de l’action. » a-t-il ajouté en présentant à ses
membres le plan média 2015.
Rappelons enfin, qu’en novembre 2015, l’UEG réunira son assemblée générale
ordinaire à Bratislava (SVK) et accueillera à cette occasion les nouvelles
fédérations du Kosovo (KOS) et de Bosnie-Herzégovine (BIH). L’Union comptera
alors 50 fédérations affiliées, soit plus du tiers de l’effectif de la FIG qui en compte
142.
