Climbing facing Mont Blanc
The Mont Blanc range offers a lot more than ice and snow climbing routes. Here is a 2-day rock climbing course
in the Aiguilles Rouge, with an outstanding view over the Mont Blanc range. Designed for those who like to climb
outside and indoor, this course is a great first experience to multi-pitch routes in a unique background!
Day 1: Climbing crag in the Aiguilles Rouges range.
Departure at 9h00 at the Compagnie des Guides, place de l’Eglise in Chamonix.
- Getting used to the equipment.
- Reviewing basic climbing techniques.
- Belaying lead and second climber.
- Assessing group level.
- First climb, one or 2 pitch route. Route example: The Chesery or Vallorcine crag …
Day 2: Multi-pitch route in the Aiguilles Rouges. We are on our way, starting from the Index or Brévent. Abolted
multi-pitch route is selected according to group level.
Route example: Gaspard 1rst or Mani poulait from the top of the Index.
PHYSICAL SHAPE :
In good shape : Can daily hike and/or climb vertical gain ranging from 500 to 700 meters, 5 to 6 hours at a
moderate hiking pace. Focus is laid on activity discovery and practice.
TECHNICAL ABILITY :
Advanced level : You already have experience in mountaineering (able to climb 5+ lead climb) and you want to
progress.
You know the basic techniques of belaying, roping, ...
GUIDING POLICY
Minimum 3 and maximum 4 participants per guide.
In terms of group size, the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix's guiding policy is one of the strictest in the
mountain guiding industry.

DOCUMENTATION
ID or valid passport.
Having a repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation (see booking form).
DATES
Thursday & Friday
Departures the 29th of June, 13th & 27th of July, 10th & 24th of August.
If you are already a group, do not hesitate to contact us for a tailored made program!
MEETING
The day before to start, meet the group and your mountain guide at 6 pm, at the Compagnie des Guides’ office,
190 place de l’Eglise, in Chamonix. This meeting is not compulsory.
Either, come on Thursday morning, meeting at 9 am at the Chamonix Guides Company.
The course ends by the end of the afternoon.
PRICE: 310 euros per person, based on a minimum of 3 persons
Including:
- 2 days of mountain guiding services,
- lifts tickets,
- daily lunches.
Not included:
- personal equipment,
- accommodation in Chamonix,
- mandatory repatriation insurance.
LODGING
On client’s demand, we can take care of hotel booking prior to arrival, staying in one of our hotel partners from the Best
Mont Blanc group in Chamonix. Please find attached the registration form to fill out for your hotel reservation needs.
Availability depends on vacancy state at time of booking.
