4 day course to climb Mont-Blanc
An exclusive program of 4 days with 1 mountain guide per person (except on day 1) to
summit the highest mountain in Europe
Indicative program
Day 1 : Technical training / basics mountaineering skills.
Routes / summit : Mer de Glace walking with crampons- using an ice axe while roped up and elementary knots.
6 clients with one guide.
Day 2 : Snow and ice / mixed hiking in high altitude.
We will test you using the technics learnt on day 1 on the high mountain terrain, over an altitude of 3500 m.
Routes / summit : Arête à Laurence Arête des cosmiques, Aiguille d’Entrèves….
Day 3 : Departure for Mont-Blanc ascent. 2 options according to the route choosen

3 monts route: from the Cable car of the Aiguille du Midi (3842 m), improving crampons technique and short
hiking with crampons to reach the Cosmiques hut (3613m), about 2 hours.
Gouter route: from the cable car of Bellevue and Nid d’Aigle tramway, hiking and climbing the Aiguille du
Gouter to reach the Gouter hut (3817), about 5 hours.

Day 4 : Mont-Blanc summit day

3 monts route: Mont Blanc du Tacul shoulder (4100 m) then shoulder of the Mont Maudit (4280 m), Brenva pass
and Mont Blanc summit (4810 m) : 6 to 8 hours.
Return route via the same way or via Aiguille du Goûter (3819 m) depending on snow and glacier conditions
Gouter route: Dôme du Gouter ( 4304m), Arête des Bosses and Mont Blanc summit (4807m) : 5 to 7 hours.
Return route via the same way.

This program can be changed for security matter, depending on weather and mountain conditions, or technical
level of the participant. The decision is up to the mountain guide. We can propose you the ascent of a different
glacier summit, for example Gran Paradiso in Italy. (2 days - overnight at Victor Emmanuel hut)

Additional information
PHYSICAL LEVEL :
The participant must have a very good physical condition: Mont-Blanc ascent has to be prepared with a regular
training to get a good stamina. (Running, cycling, hiking…)
TECHNICAL LEVEL:
HIKING EXPERIENCE WITH CRAMPONS: Before climbing Mont-Blanc it is necessary to be able to hike with
crampons in high altitude. We will teach you the techniques on the first days of the course.
GUIDING POLICY
1 private guide for 1 participant. This specific and unique guiding policy will allow the best flexibility to reach
the summit in the best conditions.
ACCOMODATION
1 night at the Cosmiques hut. Dormitories.
Nights and diners in Chamonix are not included.
MEALS
Picnic lunch every day.
Days 3 and 4 while climbing Mont-Blanc you will have dinner and breakfast at the hut.
Water is not included in the mountain hut, please take some euros for your drinks.
EQUIPMENT
The necessary equipment list is here attached.
You can rent the technical equipment : high mountain boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, and helmet .
DOCUMENTATION
ID or valid passport.
Having a repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.
We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation (see booking form).
DATES
4 days Mont Blanc program can start every day from mid-june to early October. Please contact us to check
possibilities.
MEETING
Meeting at our office on day 1 at 8h30 AM (190 place de l’Eglise in Chamonix) to start the course.
PRICE 2017 : 1820 € per person.
INCLUDING:
- Guiding fees
- Lift pass
- Picnic lunch for the 4 days
- Half board accomodation at the hut during the Mont-Blanc ascent.
NOT INCLUDING:
-Equipment rental
-Accomodation, diners and breakfast in Chamonix
Equipment list
WARM CLOTHES
Warm pair of pants, warm jacket preferably with a hood, polar fleece and
windbreaker with a hood.
Quality gloves and or mits,
Warm socks, gaiters.
Backpack ( 40 liters)
Altitude sunglasses and goggles.
Water bottle.
Headlamp, sunscreen lotion.
Cotton or silk sleeping bag for the hut.
SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT
Quality mountaineering boots ,
Crampons, ice axe, harness, helmet.
The guide will advise you according to the conditions at the time.
