Chers soeurs et frères dans le Christ,
Alors que vous lirez ce bulletin, j’assumerai le rôle de guide pour 20
paroissiens en pèlerinage en Terre Sainte, Israël. Comme vous le savez,
j’accompagne un tel groupe tous les deux ans à peu près. Ceci est un service
qu’offre la paroisse en vue de donner la chance à nos catholiques de marcher
sur les pas du Seigneur et d’approfondir leur relation avec Lui. Je vous prie de
garder notre groupe dans vos prières. J’aimerais que chaque paroissien ait une
chance, une fois dans sa vie, de marcher sur la terre qui a donné naissance à
notre Seigneur et Sauveur. Soyez assurés que nous prierons pour chacun
d’entre vous à chaque Eucharistie.
La première messe à laquelle nous assisterons sera célébrée à Jérusalem,
où nous entamerons notre voyage. Nous marcherons sur la Via Dolorosa,
méditant sur le lieu de naissance du Christ (Bethléem), vénérant la tombe où Il a
été enseveli, le Calvaire, visitant le lieu où le Christ a partagé le dernier souper
avec Ses disciples, et enfin nous nous dirigerons vers la Galilée. En Galilée,
nous visiterons Capharnaüm, Nazareth, Jéricho, et nous nous tiendrons sur le
rivage de la mer de Galilée. De beaux paysages! Les 4 derniers jours, nous irons
en Jordanie afin de visiter Petra et passer une journée en méditation silencieuse
à Wadi Rum (un vaste désert de sable où des chameaux sauvages déambulent),
et nous retournerons via la mer Morte et Qumram pour enfin atteindre
Jérusalem. Tout au long de ce temps, je présiderai des méditations bibliques,
donnant des explications et aidant le groupe à approfondir sa foi biblique. Peutêtre qu’un jour vous envisagerez visiter ces lieux Saints.
Aujourd’hui, nous commençons à nouveau les rencontres des petits groupes
communautaires. Il s’agit de groupes de partage biblique lectio divina pour les
paroissiens qui veulent mieux se préparer à Noël. Nous avons des groupes en
français, anglais, espagnol et arabe. Si vous êtes intéressés, veuillez appeler
notre bureau pour vous inscrire.
Dans quelques semaines, nous débuterons une nouvelle année pastorale. De
même, la période de l’Avent est à nos portes. L’équipe de conseil pastoral a
décidé, après un temps de prières, de désigner cette nouvelle année pastorale
pour la paroisse comme l’ANNÉE de l’EUCHARISTIE. L’année passée fut celle
de la Miséricorde pour l’Église universelle. Nous désirons concentrer notre
attention et nos énergies sur l’Eucharistie, source et sommet de la vie catholique.
Nous vous donnerons plus de renseignements dans les semaines et mois à
venir.
Notre pèlerinage prend fin le 24 novembre. Vous me manquerez tous
durant ces deux semaines et j’anticipe de vous retrouver afin de continuer à bâtir
la paroisse du Seigneur : Jésus Lumière du Monde. Avec toute mon affection.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As you read this message from the pastor, I will be leading a pilgrimage of
20 parishioners to Israel, the Holy Land. As you know, I bring a group about
every second year. This is a service to our parish so that our Catholics may have
a chance to walk in the footsteps of the Lord, and deepen their relationship with
Him. Please keep our group in prayer. I would love that every parishioner get a
chance, once in their life, to walk on the land which birthed our Lord and Saviour.
Please rest assured that we will be praying for each of you, at every Eucharist.
Our first mass will be in Jerusalem, where we will begin the trip. We will be
walking the Via Dolorosa, meditating at the birth place of Christ (Bethlehem),
worshipping at the tomb where He was buried, Calvary, visiting the site where
Jesus had the last supper with His disciples, and then onwards to Galilee. In
Galilee, we will be visiting Caphernaum, Nazareth, Jericho, and viewing the Sea
of Galilee. Lovely places! The last 4 days, we head to Jordan to visit Petra,
spend a day of silent meditation in Wadi Rum (a large sand desert ... where wild
camels wander), and return via the Dead Sea, Qumran and back to Jerusalem.
Throughout this time, I will be leading biblical meditations, giving explanations,
and helping the group deepen their biblical faith. Perhaps one day, you might
consider coming to visit these Holy sites.
Today, we begin the small community groups again. These are the Lectio
Divina bible sharing groups for Catholic who want to better prepare for
Christmas. We have groups in French, English, Spanish and Arabic. If this might
interest you, please contact our office and we will set you up.
In a few weeks, we will be starting a new pastoral year. Advent is around the
corner. The pastoral council team has decided, after some thoughtful prayer time
together, to make this new pastoral year a YEAR of the EUCHARIST for us.
Last year was the year of mercy for the universal Church. We would like to focus
our attention and energies on the Eucharist, source and summit of Catholic life.
We will tell you more in the weeks and months ahead.
Our pilgrims return November 24. I will miss you all for these two weeks,
and look forward to joining you as together we continue to build the Lord`s
