2014 Fundraising
In 2014 we would like to fundraise for the following things, Theatre lighting, playtime
equipment, cooking equipment, revamp of Hollies garden, a shelter for parents when its raining.
If we are as dedicated as 2013 then the Friends of Samares think this is achievable; however we
need YOUR help, we would like any suggestions, sponsors, time, ideas etc…
Fun & Fruity Friday
The Friends of Samares and Marks and Spencer’s have been providing fruit on a Friday morning
to all the children. The fruit has been very successful, the children love it. Teachers have said it
has helped their class interact socially as the children share and discuss what is in their fruit
pots; all we ask for is a donation of £1 per half term. Please send this in to your child’s Teacher.
The Tuk shop is open every Friday at 3pm in the school hall. If there is any fruit left over from
the morning we will be offering that too.

Upcoming Events:
Car Boots
Will be starting up again on February 2nd, car boots will be held
indoor on the first Sunday of every month 1-4 pm, Pitches are £8 and
£1 for a table. If you would like a pitch or any other information then
please contact Fiona on: 07797826614.
Sweet Valentine
Friends of Samares will be making up bags of sweet treats for the
children this valentine’s day. You or your child will get to write a
message on a love heart, we will deliver your valentine to your
child’s class ready for Friday 14th February. If you would like to
purchase (£1.00) a gift for your loved one(s) then Fiona will be taking
orders in the school hall before and after school from 3rd February –
13th February 2014.
Cinema Night

We will be holding movie nights on the above 2 dates. The
tickets will be on sale nearer to the time.
Community Room
Please come along to the community room for a tea or coffee and a chat with other
parents if you have time. The community room will be having a re-vamp shortly, FoS
are going to paint it and get some new furniture, if you have anything you can donate
i.e. chairs, tables, cups, glasses, etc…then please see Lisa Macleod who will be running
the “changing rooms “project.
Friends of Samares next meeting will be held on Thursday 6th
March in the staff room. Please come along and share your
ideas.
