The vein is w e l l mineralized with s p h a l e r i t e , galena, p y r i t e , c h a l c o p y r i t e , minor s t a n n i t e , and p o s s i b l y t e t r a h e d r i t e . The s t a n n i t e i s c h i e f l y a s s o c i a t e d w i t h s p h a l e r i t e , which c o n t a i n s b l e b s of s t a n n i t e , g a l e n a , and c h a l c o p y r i t e A composite sample was found t o c o n t a i n more t h a n 2 p e r c e n t t i n by s p e c t r o s c o p i c a n a l y s i s and 1 . 3 p e r c e n t by chemical a n a l y s i s . A g r a b sample t a k e n i n 1922 from a p i l e of s o r t e d o r e gave: Au, 0.02 o z / t ; Ag, 61.2 o z / t ; Pb, 75.7%, Zn, 5.4%. . Workings d a t i n g from t h a t p e r i o d i n c l u d e open c u t s and 1 3 8 ' o r more of d r i f t s and c r o s s c u t s i n two a d i t s . The p r o p e r t y w a s a c q u i r e d under l e a s e by G. Foulkes, of Kaslo, i n 1922 and s o r t e d o r e was shipped i n 1923. The Humbolt c l a i m was owned i n 1940 by Oscar Burden, of Kaslo. Canadian E x p l o r a t i o n Company Limited i n 1946 re-opened t h e workings t o examine t h e showings. Small o r e shipments were made by l e s s e e s R. and G. Golak i n 1948, by Talmor Mines Ltd i n 1952, and by D. Fulton and R. S u t t o n , of Cranbrook, i n 1963. The Humbolt and S a i l o r Boy c l a i m s were owned i n 1964 by E.T. Coleman, of Nelson. An o p t i o n was a c q u i r e d by D. Wade and a s s o c i a t e s , of Calgary, and 6 t o n s of o r e was shipped from a b u l l d o z e d s e c t i o n of f l a t l y i n g v e i n . Mkssrs. Wade, S u t t o n , F u l t o n and a s s o c i a t e s i n 1966 i n c o r p o r a t e d Rose P a s s Mines Ltd t o a c q u i r e t h e Humbolt and S p r i n g Creek (82 F/10, SN 1 ) p r o p e r t i e s . The company s u b s e q u e n t l y s t a k e d 84 a d j a c e n t claims. Work on t h e Humbolt p r o p e r t y i n 1966-68 i n c l u d e d p o t e n t i a l s u r v e y s and 2,786' of diamond d r i l l i n g i n 23 h o l e s on I P anomalies. F u r t h e r diamond d r i l l i n g was r e p o r t e d on t h e Humbolt p r o p e r t y i n 1971 and 1973.
