The surface of choice of the Daegu World Championships 2011 and of eight Olympic Games through 2004, Sportflex Super X Performance
provides the optimum blend of energy return, comfort, safety and durability for both competition and training activities.
SEAMLESS VULCANIZED CONSTRUCTION
Sportflex Super X Performance is a prefabricated synthetic rubber track surface, composed of two different layers vulcanized together.
The formulation of the top layer is different from that of the bottom layer. The vulcanization process guarantees molecular bond between the
two layers.
The end result is a continuous, seamless piece of material.
ALWAYS COPIED, NEVER MATCHED
The classic rubber-based top layer, often copied but never matched, provides unparalleled elasticity and spike resistance.
The non-reflecting embossing provides excellent slip-resistance and traction, as well as an efficient water flow in rainy conditions.
TWO-DIMENSIONAL DEFORMING GEOMETRY
The bottom layer consists of a waffle-shaped geometric construction, deformable in two dimensions, that provides cushoning and energy
return.
The special structure, angled in the direction of running, differentiates the biomechanical response depending on the type of stress
generated by the athlete.
SUPERIOR TRAINING EXPERIENCE
Sportflex Super X Performance is pre-manufactured in a controlled factory environment that is unaffected by ambient conditions, and
guarantees uniform thickness and technical characteristics over the entire surface of the track, resulting in constant dynamic response and
absence of variable spots that can affect in-situ systems, and that might cause breaks in the running rhythm, jeopardizing athletic performance
and increasing risk of fatigue and trauma.
It gives athletes complete control over stride length, running rhythm and balance, so they get the most out of their training sessions, with
the confidence that they can duplicate their results during competition.
EASY TO CLEAN AND REPAIR
Sportflex Super X Performance is free of surface coatings and loose granules that might compromise traction and make the material
difficult to clean.
Sections of material can be replaced with identical material and a virtually invisible seam.
IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO WEATHERING
Thanks to the innovative new formulation, the oxidation resistance (Oxidation Induction Time) of Sportflex Super X Performance has
increased by an average of 200%.
We believe that this will translate to a substantial improvement of the material's resistance to weathering, and will provide superior protection
against unpredicted climate changes and the increased risk of extreme weather.
FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY
As part of Mondo’s commitment to sustainability, Sportflex Super X Performance includes up to 42% of post-consumer and
post-industrial recycled materials, and 6% of rapidly renewable materials.
Sportflex Super X Performance is also available, on request, in a special indoor version that is specifically formulated for indoor applications,

with emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in compliance with the most stringent European requirements for commercial floorings.
These airborne chemicals are common in indoor environments and their levels may be between 2 and 1000 times higher than outdoors. Some
VOCs may produce objectionable odors at low levels, but many have no noticeable smell. VOCs are often irritants and can cause eye, nose
and throat irritation, or headaches and dizziness. At high concentrations, some VOCs are toxic.
The indoor version of Sportflex Super X Performance is also fire-rated Cfl in accordance with the Euroclass system, which dictates the best
safeguards in the case of fire, including minimal toxicity.
TRAINING ON MONDO
Tests have shown that athletes have a longer stride on Mondo than on other track surfaces.
This means that athletes who compete but have not trained on Mondo may over-stretch muscles, and in the jump and hurdle events, where a
certain number of strides is required to reach a specific point, may miscalculate their stride.
The better solution is for athletes to familiarize themselves with the Mondo effect in advance of the competition, or better still, train regularly on
Mondo so they can capitalize on its performance-enhancing characteristics.
Athletes that have this advantage invariably achieve personal bests.
