WINTER DRESS
Winter Dress is in effect as of 15 Oct. That means the
shirt, tie and jacket are worn at all times. No open collar

POPPY CAMPAIGN
As part of our Remembrance Day activities, we are
assisting the Poppy Campaign of Eastview Legion
Branch 462 (Vanier) by selling Poppies during the
weekends of 25-27 Oct, 1-3 Nov and 8-10 Nov.

Dans le cadre de nos activités du Jour du Souvenir et à
l'appui à la branche 462 de la Légion Eastview (Vanier)
nous les aiderons dans la vente de coquelicots les fins de

SPONSORING COMMITTEE / COMITÉ RÉPONDANT
15 OCT - MEETING
To finance 51 Squadron’s activities, the Squadron will
be participating in the Ontario Provincial lottery ticket
sale. The Sponsoring Committee requests that each
Cadet sell two booklets at $50 each. The Air Cadet
Movement currently has no registration fees. However,
nothing is free. To ensure that we stay accessible to
everyone, we need the participation and cooperation of
all. The financial health of our squadron depends on it.
The booklets of tickets will be distributed on 15 October.
Each booklet is $50 ($50 x 2 = $100 per Cadet) payable
to the Sponsoring Committee at issue. For further
information, you are invited to attend a meeting with the
Sponsoring Committee at 8 pm (2000 hours) in the
Bush Theatre at the Canada Aviation and Space
Museum. We will introduce the Sponsoring Committee
and our role in the squadron.

15 OCT - RÉUNION
Afin de financer les activités de notre escadron, nous allons
participer à la vente de billets de loterie organisée par la
province d’Ontario. Nous demandons à chaque Cadet de
vendre deux carnets (50 $ x 2=100 $ par cadet). Le
Mouvement des Cadets de l’Air est sans frais d’inscription.
Il faut savoir que rien n’est gratuit. Pour que tout reste
gratuit, nous avons besoin de la participation et de
l’implication de tous. La survie financière de notre escadron
en dépend. Les carnets seront distribués le mardi 15
octobre au prix de 50 $ le carnet soit 100 $ par cadet
payable au Comité Répondant lors de la distribution. Pour
toute information supplémentaire, nous vous invitons à
assister à notre session d’information à 20 heures au
Théâtre de Brousse du Musée de l’aviation et de l’espace
du Canada. Nous vous présenterons le Comité Répondant
et notre rôle au sein de l’escadron.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Parents, are you willing to help the Sponsoring
Committee as a member of the committee, cadet
supervisor during Tag Days, helping with canteen duties
on training nights, etc.? If so, please contact Chantal
Viennot Séguin at [email protected].

SQUADRON CANTEEN
On training nights cadets and staff have access to a
small canteen that is run by parent volunteers. Water,
juice, soft drinks, chocolate bars, and at times other
articles may be purchased during breaks. Any profits
(after expenses) are turned over to the Sponsoring
Committee which are used, along with other funds, to
run the squadron. Why not donate chocolate bars,
juices or soft drinks to the canteen which could then be
sold at profit to improve our overall funds for this year?
CANTINE DE L’ESCADRON
Les soirs d’instruction les cadets et l’état-major ont accès à
une petite cantine gérée par des parents volontaires. On
peut y acheter de l’eau, des jus, des boissons gazeuses,
des barres de chocolat et quelquefois des articles différents
lors des périodes de pause. Tout profit (moins les coûts)
est remis au Comité répondant que l’on utilise, avec
d’autres moyens financiers, pour faire rouler l’escadron.
Pourquoi ne pas contribuer des barres de chocolat, du jus
ou des boissons gazeuses à la cantine qui pourrait ensuite
les revendre à profit afin d’améliorer notre montant total
pour l’année?

Parents and friends of cadets, please help support the
51 Squadron Air Cadets by specifically directing all, or
a portion of, your United Way Campaign charitable
donation to our Sqn. You simply need to indicate on the
form under Other Options that you wish to designate the
amount of your donation to another registered Canadian

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
Cadets (minimum age 14 years old) interested in joining
are to submit the registration form and money ($30) to
CI Hurley (Group Leader). In addition to the many cadet
activities you participate in, the volunteer hours that are
required to graduate from high school can also be
applied to the program.

Les cadets (âge minimum de 14 ans) intéressés à se joindre

d’enregistrement et l’argent (30 $) à l’IC Hurley (Chef de
groupe). En plus des nombreuses activités de cadets
auxquelles vous participez, les heures de bénévolat que
vous accumulez pour graduer de l’école secondaire peuvent
s’appliquer au programme.
CHECKING WEBSITE
All cadets are responsible to check the Squadron
website at least once a week for messages. At a
minimum the website Event Calendar and Weekly
Messages pages should be checked on the day
preceding any cadet activity for the latest updated
information.
