CDA/Lilly Early Dermatology Research Scholarships
February 2016
New CDA Member Benefit Helps Residents and Young
Dermatologists Attend Key Conferences
CDA National Office
The Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) has obtained an unrestricted educational grant from
Eli Lilly to help senior residents and early-practice dermatologists attend key international
dermatologic congresses.
The CDA/Lilly Early Dermatology Research Scholarships, which will cover attendance expenses of
up to $2,500, are available to residents and dermatologists who have either reached PGY3 or
higher in a recognized Canadian dermatology residency program or have been certified in
dermatology in the last seven years. Applicants must also reside in Canada and be CDA members
or associate members in good standing.
“We are continually looking for ways to add value to CDA membership, and we are pleased to be
able to offer this opportunity to support the continuing education of residents and young
dermatologists,” said Dr. Vince Bertucci, President of the CDA. “We are grateful to Eli Lilly for
recognizing the importance of having a dermatologic profession in Canada that is at the cutting
edge of global research and practice.”
The four congresses covered by this program are the following:
•
•
•
•
The American Academy of Dermatology, March 4 to 8, 2016, Washington, DC
The Society for Investigative Dermatology, May 11-14, 2016, Scottsdale, AZ
46th Annual European Society for Dermatological Research, September 6 to 10, 2016,
Munich, Germany
European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, September 28 to October 2, 2016,
Vienna, Austria
Each scholarship will be awarded on merit using a standardized scoring system administered
independently by the CDA, with preference given to those who have an abstract or poster
accepted for presentation. Should the number of qualified applicants exceed the number of
available scholarships, a lottery system will be introduced for the highest ranked. Only one
scholarship will be granted to a recipient in a given calendar year.
Full details and an application form can be found at http://www.dermatology.ca/members/ under
