Come and join us for some outdoor fun at our playgroup in the park. Enjoy some time outside with your little
ones and experience adventures beyond the play structures!
Please note: Playgroup in the park is weather dependent.
Please call 613-737-6369 if it’s been raining and you’re unsure whether or not to attend.
Chapters “Fun To Read” - Every Thursday!
Join us for circle time with songs, rhymes and a story. There will be a question
and answer period with an Educator from the Ontario Early Years Centre.

Child Care Connection Meeting
An opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect through a facilitated meeting.
Dental Health Screening and Information Session
Come and meet a Dental Hygienist during our playgroup. Information and
resources are available to learn more about dental health in children 0-12 months. Questions can be
answered in both English and French.
Yoga for Children
For children 3-6 years of age and their parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
Give your child the gift of yoga. Children will participate in active stories while using yoga poses that relate to
the theme of the session. We will focus on breathing and relaxation through guided imagery.
Families can register for individual sessions.
Car seat information session with SEATS for Kids
A representative from SEATS for Kids will be available to answer questions regarding child safety seat
restraints, proper installation and will provide information on the different types of seats available for your
child.
Salsa Tots – Latin Groove for Kids on the Move!® - DEMO SESSION
Go from goo-goo, ga-ga to cha-cha-cha! Designed for older babies who have outgrown the carrier and are
ready to dance on their own two feet! This parent-and-tot demo session is full of fun, tropical songs and steps
for toddlers up to 5-years. Parents get active modelling actions for their children and promoting physical

their imagination in an open and safe environment
Salsa Babies – Latin Beat for Tiny Feet!® - DEMO SESSION
Salsa Babies® is a dance class that helps new moms get back in shape with the best little partners of all –
their babies! With little ones snuggled into baby carriers, moms learn popular Latin dances while babies
shake maraca rattles and bounce along to the Salsa beat! Classes are appropriate for babies approximately
6-8 weeks of age and up, as long as moms are comfortable supporting the baby in a carrier for the duration of
the class. All levels of fitness and dance experience are welcome. Baby carriers are required.
Connecting with Your Baby
For parents/caregivers with infants from 0-12 months of age.
You are your baby’s first connection to this world. Come and learn tips on how to create connections with
your baby as well as learn about the importance of your baby’s development and how you can enhance these
areas. Parenting partners and babies welcome!
Bedtime Transitions and Healthy Sleep Habits Information Session
An Early Years Educator will be available to provide information and tips on bedtime transitions and healthy
sleep habits, and to discuss challenges you may be having. Handouts and book recommendations will be
provided.
Daddy Playgroup / Groupe de jeu pour papa
An opportunity for fathers and other male caregivers (uncles, grandfathers, big brothers, etc…) to connect
within an early learning environment.
Une occasion pour papa, oncle, grand-papa, etc. d’interagir avec d’autres hommes dans un contexte relié à
la petite enfance.
Visit with a Dietitian
A registered dietitian will be available during the baby group to give information on healthy eating for moms.
Feeding in the first 6 months, introducing solids to your baby and tips and ideas on how to
make your own baby food will be discussed.
*Please note that all parent/child workshops with registration will start on time and we will not accept anyone after 15 minutes of a workshop.

Talk by 2
The Talk by 2 workshop focuses on speech and language development of children 0-24 months. The
communication and language milestones are identified for this age group. Indicators of delays and speech
language development strategies are also discussed.

An opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect through a facilitated meeting.
Sibling Rivalry
Communicate with siblings effectively to help children deal with their feelings. Understand how to free your
children from family roles and labels, respect individuality and cope with sibling rivalry/ competition.

First Words Screening Clinic / Clinique de dépistage Premiers Mots
Starting November 15th, First Words screening clinics will be by online appointment only. To access a
screening clinic after November 15th, visit their website at firstwords.ca to book an appointment. Online
booking will be available starting on October 15th.
À partir du 15 novembre, les cliniques de dépistage de Premiers mots seront accessibles uniquement sur
rendez-vous en ligne. Pour accéder à une clinique de dépistage après le 15 novembre, prenez rendez-vous
sur leur site Web à www.premiersmots.ca. Il sera possible de prendre des rendez-vous en ligne à compter du
15 octobre.
Healthy Child Development Screening Session
A public health nurse will be available to complete a developmental screening session with you and your
child. If you have any questions or concerns, supports will be provided. Questions can be answered in both
English and French.
Story Walk
Join us for an outdoor adventure and discover a new way to read books with your child! A story walk is a fun
way to build literacy skills while at the same time integrating the component of physical literacy. Pages of a
storybook will be placed along a path where families can enjoy the outdoors while reading a story.
To be held at the Walkley Conroy Green space - will be meeting at 2330 Don Reid

Little Chefs
For children 3 to 6 years old and their parents/guardians and/or caregivers.
The goal of Little Chefs is to encourage a positive attitude towards healthy eating.
With the introduction of basic cooking skills, children will also learn other skills, such as math,
science, nutrition, art and reading. In addition children will improve their motor skills, self-esteem,
independence, and personal responsibility.
