Visit from a librarian from the Ottawa Public Library
A librarian from the Ottawa Public Library will be available to give information about the programs and
services that the library has to offer as well as share tips and strategies on how to promote reading
with your little ones. She will also be facilitating circle time.
Chapters “Fun To Read” - Every Thursday!
Join us for circle time with songs, rhymes and a story. There will be a question
and answer period with an Educator from the Ontario Early Years Centre.
Chapters South Keys – 2210 Bank Street.
Healthy Child Development Screening Session
A public health nurse will be available to complete a developmental screening session with you and
your child. If you have any questions or concerns, supports will be provided. Questions can be
answered in both English and French.
Child Care Connection Meeting
An opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect through a facilitated meeting.
Visit with a Dietitian
A registered dietitian will be available during the baby group to give information on healthy eating for
moms. Feeding in the first 6 months, introducing solids to your baby and tips and ideas on how to
make your own baby food will be discussed.

Heure du conte familiale (pour nos familles francophones)
Pour enfants de 0 à 6 ans accompagnés de leurs parents
Retrouvez tous les plaisirs de l’heure du conte, histoires, comptines et chansons, destinés à la famille
au complet ! La soirée comprendra aussi un bricolage sur le thème du livre.
À noter, toutes les activités se déroulent en français donc adultes et enfants doivent avoir une bonne
maitrise de la langue française.
Toilet Learning Information Session (during Don Reid playgroup)
An Early Years Educator will be available to answer your questions on toilet learning. Come and
discuss signs of readiness, tips on how to encourage independence in your child as well as the
importance of a consistent routine.
Daddy Playgroup / Groupe de jeu pour papa
An opportunity for fathers and other male caregivers (uncles, grandfathers, big brothers, etc…) to
connect within an early learning environment. / Une occasion pour papa, oncle, grand-papa, etc.
d’interagir avec d’autres hommes dans un contexte relié à la petite enfance.
Art Club: Exploring Through Paint
For children from 3 to 6 years of age and their parents/guardians and/or caregivers
Children will have the opportunity to explore and create using different paint medium techniques.
Parents and children should be ready to get messy!

For parents/guardians and/or caregivers with infants AGES 0-12 MONTHS
This 4 week series provides an opportunity for parents to discover how they can connect with their
babies through songs, rhymes, sensory activities , books and so much more! A new topic will be
discussed each week as we play and learn together. Don’t miss out on this wonderful experience to
connect with your baby as well as with other parents.
*Please note that all parent/child workshops with registration will start on time and we will not accept anyone after 15 minutes of a workshop.

Understand power struggles and turn them into learning opportunities. Become your
child’s mentor and coach to stay emotionally connected for life.
First Words Screening Clinic / Clinique de dépistage Premiers Mots
Starting November 15th, First Words screening clinics will be by online appointment
only. To access a screening clinic after November 15th, visit their website at firstwords.ca to book an appointment. Online booking will be available starting on October
15th.
À partir du 15 novembre, les cliniques de dépistage de Premiers mots seront accessibles
uniquement sur rendez-vous en ligne. Pour accéder à une clinique de dépistage après le
15 novembre, prenez rendez-vous sur leur site Web à www.premiersmots.ca. Il sera
possible de prendre des rendez-vous en ligne à compter du 15 octobre.

Pour enfants de 3 à 6 ans accompagnés d’un adulte
Cet atelier sera axé sur l’apprentissage des différentes techniques de peinture. Les
enfants développeront leur créativité tout en s’amusant avec de la peinture! Soyez prêt
à vous salir!
