A NEW WINNER OF THE CIK-FIA WORLD CUP FOR KF2. Assembled at the headquarters
of the FIA in Paris on 11 November 2008 following the positive analysis of an anti-doping control carried out during the CIK-FIA World Cup for KF2 at La Conca (I) on 20 September 2008,
the Stewards of the Meeting for that event heard the Italian driver Flavio Camponeschi, the
winner of the race.
Traces of a product (cannabis) featuring on the «Prohibited List» published by the World AntiDoping Agency (WADA) had been detected in the urine sample provided by the driver concerned. The Panel of Stewards decided to exclude him from the final classification and suspend
his licence for the next 6 months.
As a reminder, the CIK-FIA (Commission Internationale de Karting-FIA), with the help of the
FIA Institute and WADA, conducted a broad doping awareness and prevention campaign called «Race True» during the 2006 season. In 2007 and 2008, within the framework of the CIKFIA Karting Championships, 30 drivers were tested, including six outside competition. Only
one test yielded a positive result.
A new classification of the event has therefore been drawn up, subject to appeal by the driver
concerned. Britain’s Oliver Rowland (Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop) is declared the winner of the
2008 CIK-FIA World Cup for KF2, ahead of the Czech Zdenek Groman (Maranello-Parilla-Dunlop) and Frenchman Loïc Réguillon (Sodi-Parilla-Dunlop).

UN NOUVEAU VAINQUEUR À LA COUPE DU MONDE CIK-FIA DE KF2. Réunis ce 11
novembre au siège de la FIA à Paris et saisis d’une analyse positive au contrôle anti-dopage
réalisé dans le cadre de la Coupe du Monde CIK-FIA de KF2 à La Conca (I) le 20 septembre
dernier, les Commissaires sportifs de l’épreuve ont auditionné le pilote italien vainqueur de la
course, Flavio Camponeschi.
Des traces d’un produit (cannabis) figurant sur la «Liste des interdictions» publiée par l’Agence Mondiale Antidopage (AMA) ont été décelées dans l’échantillon d’urine du pilote concerné.
Le Collège des Commissaires sportifs a décidé de l’exclure du classement final et de lui infliger une suspension de licence de 6 mois.
Pour rappel, la CIK-FIA (Commission Internationale de Karting-FIA), avec le concours de l’Institut de la FIA et de l’AMA, avait mené une large campagne de sensibilisation et de prévention
contre le dopage, baptisée «Race True», au cours de la saison 2006 de Karting. En 2007 et
2008, 30 pilotes ont été contrôlés dans le cadre des Championnats de Karting de la CIK-FIA,
dont six hors-compétition. Un seul test a révélé un résultat positif.
Un nouveau classement de l’épreuve est dès lors établi, sous réserve d’appel du Pilote concerné. Le Britannique Oliver Rowland (Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop) est déclaré vainqueur de la
Coupe du Monde CIK-FIA 2008 de KF2, devant le Tchèque Zdenek Groman (Maranello-ParillaDunlop) et le Français Loïc Réguillon (Sodi-Parilla-Dunlop).
