Design o f different vo lumes co nnected by a cano py o verlo o king a game terrace and o riented to the natural enviro nment o f the site. A co vered co urtyard was created between the existing building and the classro o ms which pro vides access to the different flo o rs o f the new building and existing buildings such as the fo rmer spo rts hall and canteen / kindergarten. The co nstructio n was carried o ut in timber frame fo r the gro und flo o r and first flo o r. Only a few co ncrete elements were executed in these flo o rs (stairs and elevato r shaft) and, fo r static and safety reaso ns. These elements are materialized by the visible co ncrete walls who se surface has been structured with vertical wo o d planks. The basement, dedicated to technical equipment and sto rage, is fully apparent with ro ugh co ncrete. Mo st o f the wo o den elements were prefabricated, which helped save time o n site and gave the o ppo rtunity to wo rk simultaneo usly inside the building. These wo o den elements were co mpletely co vered with plaster to ensure their fire resistance and to avo id o ver-sizing o f the wo o den building elements to achieve sufficient strength. The building was built co ntiguo us to an existing building to pro vide a co mpact energy to wer respecting the ro ute o f the creek "Walterbaach".
