II. ABSTRACT Study of the thermodynamic properties of the heavy cuts of the oil Crude oils are complex mixtures of hydrocarbons. It is practically impossible to identify all the individual chemical components of a crude oil. The hydrocarbon compounds of the oil can be however organized in cuts. The determination of PVT and physical-chemical properties of a reservoir fluid is essential for the future exploitation of the oil field. Indeed, the composition, the fluid quality, the thermodynamic behaviour, and thus the cut properties, are used in the reserve and production estimations and in the design of surface installations. The objective of the training course was to improve the modelling of standard and light oils, usually represented cut by cut up to C11+, by characterizing cuts from C11 to C30 due to the lack of physical measurements (molecular weight, composition, densities) on these cuts. The modelling of these cut properties, is based on the physical measurements and on gas chromatography analyses (GC carburane, DistSim), GCP). Then, due to the elaboration of models and correlations it has been possible to improve the physical and the thermodynamic parameters of each cut. With this fluid representation up to C30 +, the matching of the heavy cut is made using the BEST software. This new representation cut by cut, up to C30 + is a real progress and a better representation of the thermodynamic fluid behaviour in particular for light fluids, compare to the representation up to C11 +.
