Bison, Bison
Bison, bison; why oh bison,
Are you not running on my ground?
Bison, bison; why oh bison,
Do your hooves no longer sound?
Bison, bison; why oh bison,
Can't you run here anymore?
Bison, bison; my, my bison,
I wish I'd seen your herds before.

Canadian
Canadi an Shield
Raining,
Pitter, Patter,
Falling quickly in the rapids,
Flowing,
The sharp cedar scent follows,
With it’s friend the pine,
The storm ends.
The peacefulness is back,
The flower blooms once again.
The bee hums
The wind blows ever so softly.
In and out of trees.
It whistles
The heather is strong in one place,
Softly moving
Mountains in the distance, snow peaked,
And majestically standing with blue sky,
Behind them with shining sun,
Shining on the dry, red rock,
Covering the vast, dead, droopy landscape.
The trees are gloomy once again.
Another storm hits.
Windy, stormy, wet again
Thunder roars and lightning flashes
The place is destroyed,
For glaciers have covered the land
This is the Canadian Shield.

Être malade
Being sick
Être malade ce n’est pas amusant
On a besoin de médicaments
J’ai plusieurs raisons
Pour rester à la maison
Being sick is no fun
We need medicine
I have lots of reasons
To stay home
La gorge me fait mal
Je deviens sale
Plus de bain, je lave mes mains

And I become dirty

Fire In The Sky
Look at the strange flicker
In the deep dark sky!
Now blazing brightly, I wonder
What? How? Why?!
Illuminating the still quiet of my mind,
With colors of the fluorescent kind.
Swiftly swaying to and fro,
In seconds and moments the designs grow.
Like fairies dancing in harmony
- a melodious open air ceremony.
Mysterious and mesmerizing and magical too,
Everywhere I look, I see something new!
Dimming soon, the vibrant dance
Leaves me behind in an everlasting trance ...

Gazing up
Gazing up very high,
Asteroids, Meteors, Comets so bright.
Planets with moons, Planets with rings,
Planets like Neptune, they say it sings!
How many planets? More than you think,
With 30 dwarf planets with moons but no rings.
8 main planets orbiting the Sun,
It’s too dizzy, let’s run!
63 moons of Jupiter, there might be more,
But for right now, no one is sure.

Her
Her eyes as blue as the sky
Her skin as soft as a pillow
Her hair blacker than night
Her smile as cute as a teddy bear
And the way I love her is as strong as a vice.

Jeans
Jeans are pants that are great to wear,
But when you do the splits they tear.
They rip up and down the seam,
Even if they're the colour green.
They come in all shapes, sizes and brands,
But please remember they don't expand.
Always have your zipper zipped,
And if there's one have your button clipped.
You might buy jeans that are way too tight,
And to get them up you might have to fight.
They're worn by the oldies and us preteens,
And that's all you need to know about jeans.

Nature
Flowers are beautiful with all their colours.
They remind me of a rainbow after the rain and the sun.
In the morning appears dew after a beautiful night of rain.
During the month of December winter comes out of its hiding
place.
The snow starts to fall and leaves the place all white.

L’Ange
(English Translation)
The Angel
Venez mes choux
Sur mes genoux
Qui sentent les oranges
Je me laisse emporter par le vent
Qui m’emporte à la plage.
The angel smells like an orange
The angel shines in the sun
The angel likes to dive
The angel flies like a bee
All the little girls like the angels
The angel likes having starfish
in its ear
The angel tells everybody
Come to me my sweethearts
On my knees
That smell like oranges
I’ll let the wind take me
And bring me to the beach.

Leaves
Leaves, leaves, blow around.
Leaves, leaves, touch the ground.
The trees will soon be bare.
I wish I did not care.
And soon winter will be here.
I will try not to shed a tear.
Leave, leaves, sleep all day,
Until you have a sunny day.
Blow, blow, blow away.
“It is not time to go,” I say.
Please keep the cold north winds away,
Just, for a few, more days.
Leaves, leaves, blow once more around me
Leave, leaves, you will, be set free.
I will dream that dream,
When once again, I will climb the tree.
And await the smell of the sweet leaves
When you will be with me,
Again.

Les chevaux
Horses
Horses
J’aime les chevaux
Quand ils sont gros
Ils respirent par leurs naseaux
Qui sont très gros
I like horses
When they are big
They breathe through their nostrils
which are very big
Ils peuvent porter des poids très lourd
Comme de pesant chariots
La criniere est attachee
Pour leur faire une beauté
They can carry very heavy loads
Like heavy wagons
Their mane is pulled back
To make them beautiful
Ils sont bien apprivoisés
J’aime les arroser
Et les brosser
Les chevaux sont bien domptés
They are very well tamed
I like to wash them
and brush them
They behave very well

My Kitten
I am smitten,
With my kitten.
She’s my guiding light,
And her colour is milky white.
Like doves,
We’re in love.
Every night,
Amaya plays, she bites,
But that’s alright.
My kitten is my bright
Shining star of the night.
Amaya is really cute, I think she is adorable,
Altough my mother thinks she’s horrible.
I pray she will stay
With me, everyday.
A worthwhile endeavour.
I hope she’s with me forever.

Peace
In war men have died
Men are dying
Men will die
But they shall bring
Peace to all
One day
One day we shall have peace
Finally when that day comes
No gun shall fire
Nobody shall be attacked
No bomb shall be planted
No tank shall fire
Peace will only be obtain
By awareness and team work
If we don’t work together
We shall never
Obtain peace
And keep fighting
On, and on, and on

The Canadian Shield
As the rapid waters swish across
The red majestic rocks, the sun glimmers,
Shimmers, and makes the rapid waters shine.
The minty sharp scent of the exotic
Pine trees welcome you with its mystical looks.
The beautiful flowers of the Canadian
Shield dance with the wind while speaking
The words of wisdom
The beautiful, gloomy, spicy, green of the
Thick lines of grass get crushed by
The hard hitting winds
The glaciers, the glaciers hit the rocks
Under the cold wintery ice with its cold
Heart that will never melt

The Poor Raindrops
There once was a raindrop that fell from the sky
It fell on a leaf
It kept falling and falling then it fell into a puddle
and no one saw it again.
Then another raindrop fell on a leaf and kept on going
but then it fell into a puddle
and no one saw those two raindrops ever again.
They were so sad.

Un Lapin
A Rabbit
Un jour j’ai vu un lapin
Dans un gros jardin
Il était bleu
Et avait une grosse queue
One day I saw a rabbit
In a big garden
It was bleu
and with a big tail
Il avait une grosse maison
Et il tenait un crayon
J’ai me suis rapproché de lui
Mai il s’était en fuit
The rabbit had a big house
And was holding a pencil
I approached him
But he ran away
J’ai couru après lui
Mais c’était la nuit
Donc c’était dur à le voir
J’étais triste car je voulais l’avoir
him
I ran after him
But it was night time
So it was hard to see
I was sad because I wanted to keep
Le lendemain matin
J’ai trouvé le lapin
J’étais content
Qui ne sera pas content
The next morning
I found the rabbit
I was happy
Who wouldn’t be happy?

She stands in the distance.
The soft wind is blowing, as it leaves.
The strong wind blows.
Pushing her back.
The wind is blowing the trees back, making their branches bare.
The sun starts to shine among the clouds.
Making the strong wind die away.
She walks to the warm peaceful river.
The wind is back.
The sunshine, the warm quiet sun starts to fade away.
The wind. Making the rivers water rapid.
Making the sky darker than it already was.
The wind gnarled at her.
Blowing the pine needles off of the pine trees.
She sees the mountain. The sun setting in bright, but mild colours.
She sees the stars. As the strong wind blows, she notices
the beautiful surroundings around her.
The bright white daisy petals gripping to live.
The droopy pine trees breaking slowly.
The wind is becoming weaker. A beautiful sight she sees.
A lunar eclipse.
The beautiful colours of day, with the mysterious darkness of night.
A beautiful sight it was.
She closed her eyes as the soft wind blew.
The smell of pine trees made her relax.
She soon fell fast asleep.
Good night.

Winter’s Fine With Me
Some people in Fort McMurray don’t like the weather,
Some people say it is too cold!
I don’t mind the weather, I think its fine.
I could build snowmen 6 months out the year.
Santa needs the cold for his sled and reindeer.
When all the leaves fall off the tree,
I can’t wait to climb the hills and go sledding.
If I get to cold, I can drink hot coco!
After a long day outside in the snow,
The best thing I know,
Is to read my favourite book by the fire.
If I go outside to skate,
I go inside to warm up,
And that’s great!
I don’t mind the weather,
I think its just fine.
Some people don’t like winter,
Maybe they just like to complain?
But, I can’t wait for summer
Because spring weather brings
So many things…. to do outside!
