Chers amis,
J’ai le plaisir de présenter ma candidature pour faire partie du Conseil
d’Administration.
Je me présente en quelques mots :
Je suis ESCP-Europe promo 1975. Je fais ma carrière dans l’aviation civile : j’ai fait
du contrôle de gestion, de la gestion technique et finalement me suis occupé de la
stratégie grands programmes dans ce qui s’appelle aujourd’hui EADS ; puis j’ai été
négociateur de contrats dans une société de leasing de gros avions ; puis encore
lobbyist à Bruxelles (chez IATA, représentant des compagnies aériennes auprès des
grandes institutions).
Depuis 2004 je suis consultant indépendant. Mes clients sont évidemment dans le
monde aérien : compagnies aériennes, agences européennes, commission européenne
en particulier.
Dans notre Association j’ai créé et anime le groupe Aéronautique et Espace. Il marche
bien : bonne ambiance, bons conférenciers, bon réseau de 200 membres environ.
J’espère- pourvoir contribuer utilement aux activités « réseau international» de
l’Association. Le monde de l’aviation est international. Je pense tout particulièrement
au monde sud-méditerranéen sur lesquels je suis très impliqué puisque je suis le Team
Leader d’un grand programme de coopération internationale de la Commission
européenne qui porte sur 10 états sud-méditerranéens allant du Maroc à l’ouest à la
Syrie au nord-Est. Je pourrais contribuer à y renforcer les liens du réseau par des
actions pratiques. C’est d’ailleurs cette activité qui m’a fait penser que cela pourrait
être utile à l’Association.
Continuer à être utile à une Association qui a besoin de tous, tout simplement, en lui
donnant une partie de son temps, tout en se faisant plaisir parce que la compagnie y est
bonne : voilà un bon programme.
Dear friends,
First of all accept a few words about my professional activities:
I graduated in 1975 and –so far so good- retirement is still a long way to go! I spent most of
my professional activities in aviation: I first joined AEROSPATIALE (now EADS) to
perform cost control, project management and ultimately I was in charge of commercial and
financial strategies for AIRBUS. Thereafter I was in the founding team of an aircraft leasing
company –PARTNAIRS NV in the Netherlands- then in charge of negotiating purchase
agreements and lease agreements. I joined IATA in 1997 to represent the international airlines
in Brussels and negotiate infrastructure, tariffs and quality of service with the major European
airports and air traffic service providers.
Since 2004 I am an independent consultant Most of my customers are airlines, agencies such
as EUROCONTROL and the Galileo Joint Undertaking and the European Commission.
Now what about ESCP Europe Alumni?
In support of our Association’s network three of us founded “Aeronautics & Space” in July
2009. The group grew steadily to around 200 enthusiastic members, which is not too bad in a
niche industry. Mainly of us come from the manufacturing industry, some of us from airlines
or airports and altogether present a large spectrum of professional backgrounds: strategists,
salesmen, financiers and lawyers to name a few.
It would be my pleasure to contribute further to expanding the network of our Association.
My business increasingly embraces the South of the Mediterranean Sea, from Morocco to
Syria under an EC led programme of international assistance for which I am the Team Leader.
It came to me that this new course of business might be an opportunity to assist in further
building up the Alumni network, where required.
As a delegate I know by experience that the team spirit in our Association is excellent. It
would be my pleasure to give a group with such a good team spirit the required time and
efforts.
