C'est avec grand plaisir que nous travaillons avec notre nouvelle équipe sur nos prochains bulletins. Ainsi, vous l'aurez remarqué, la mise en page, les rubriques, les caractères d'imprimerie et les illustrations sont différents. Nous avons la chance d'avoir
parmi nous Upi Struzak qui fait de la conception de site web.
Signalons également la présence de notre jeune stagiaire, Aurore, fraîchement débarquée de France. Elle sera un atout essentiel dans nos démarches administratives
et nos diverses tâches que nous-mêmes, bénévoles fort occupés, n'avons pas le
temps d'exécuter.
Enfin, faisons remarquer un évènement spécial au sein de notre communauté française en la visite du Président François Hollande à San Francisco, où il a reçu les dirigeants des sociétés les plus en vue de la Stilicon Valley ! Il a clôturé son séjour par
une soirée à San Francisco parmi quelques 2800 français venus l'écouter !

de San Francisco, qui vous accueille de 13h30 à 16h. Un billet

French Language Contest
The AFSCV is proud to announce its yearly
French language contest for high school students.
The competition is open to graduating seniors
from public or private high schools in Santa Clara
County.
The contest will be held Saturday 26 April 2014
from 10am to 12pm at the Golden Gate
Language Schools, 591 W. Hamilton Ave.,

The 9th French Fair "A day in France" will take place on
Saturday, March 15th from 10 am to 6 pm at the Lucie
Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo
Alto.
Faithful and new customers will have the opportunity to
meet vendors, artists and services who will bring them a
wide choice of unique products: hand-made jewelry,
original art, home decoration, designer clothing for adults
and children and much more. Want to find organized
trips to the South of France, French speaking realtors, a
French preschool or school...this is the place to go.
The fashion show will feature the latest creations of our
French designers, we will have live French music … and
let’s not forget the French delicatessen, crepes, cheeses,
gourmet food and tempting pastries for a true taste of
France.
The French Fair this year takes place during the week that celebrate the French language in the world, Francophony Week, and we are delighted to announce the presence
of the Mr Filippe Savadogo, Ambassador of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) to the United Nations in New York City and former Minister of Culture and
Communication in Burkina Faso.
The French Fair is sponsored jointly by the Alliance Française of Silicon Valley and the
Alliance Française of San Francisco.
Partners for New Generations, a Los Altos non-profit organization and co-organizer of
the fair, will receive a portion of the proceeds.
