We will discuss the Seven Grandfather Teachings, and introduce Aboriginal Women leaders who represent the Teachings. 2. GROWING NORTHERN ONTARIO AND THE ECONOMY: 3:00 PM Even though women’s entrepreneurship in the North has grown significantly over the past decade, there is much work to be done to fully capitalize on the economic impact these businesses—in addition to new ones—can have on Ontario’s Northern economy. The consultation will focus on identifying the barriers and solutions to further support the financial growth of women’s businesses in the North. Government agencies/funders, First Nations community leaders, banks, and practitioners from economic, business development, job development, and women’s support agencies are welcome. Facilitator: Stacia Kean & Suzanne Brabant 3. THE GOOD, THE BAD, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ‐ GET IT!: 3:00 PM Have you ever walked into a business and experienced the worst customer service ever? Then, to your dismay, you find out that it was the owner behind the counter? This type of situation can be avoided if you know what your business needs to succeed, what you do well, and recognize what you may not do as well. Are you spending too much time on tasks others should be doing for you? This revealing workshop will provide you with valuable information on what is working, what isn’t working and what you can do to enhance and grow a successful business. Get information on wage subsidy options, apprenticeship grants, and potential employee placement opportunities to support your business and provide valuable job skills training to other women. ⇒ Know What They Know and What They Don’t Know. ⇒ Dare to Dream and Know What’s Needed To Succeed! ⇒ Strive to Be the Best That They Can Be and Share the best they can be with others!
