Die Schwergewichtsverlagerung in der Weltwirtschaft in Richtung Asien wird sich in den kommenden
Jahren noch beschleunigen. Dazu tragen konjunkturelle und strukturelle Wachstumsschwächen in den
westlichen Industriestaaten ebenso wie makroökonomische und ordnungspolitische Quantensprünge in
den aufstrebenden asiatischen Mächten bei.
Ostasien pflegt unter dem Einfluss des Konfuzianismus eine merkantilistische, staatsorientierte Wirtschaftsordnung. Diese steht im Widerspruch zum Freihandel und ist auf die Akkumulation von Reichtum
und Ressourcen fokussiert. Zentral ist die nationalstaatliche Kontrolle von Rohstoffen, Handelsstrassen
und Energieträgern. Dies stellt die westlichen Strategien beim Supply Chain Management vor neue
Herausforderungen. Unter anderem werden Vorratshaltung und Diversifikation neues Gewicht erhalten.

Le déplacement du poids de l’économie mondiale en direction de l’Asie s’accélérera encore ces prochaines années. Y contribuent des faiblesses conjoncturelles et structurelles dans la croissance des
Etats industriels occidentaux, de même que des pas de géant macroéconomiques et d’ordre politique
dans les marchés asiatiques en expansion.
L’Asie orientale, sous l’influence du confucianisme, se distingue par un ordre économique mercantile et
orienté vers l’Etat. Ce dernier est en contradiction avec le libre commerce et se concentre sur
l’accumulation de richesses et de ressources. Le contrôle étatique des matières premières, des voies de
communication commerciales et des fournisseurs d’énergie est central. Cela met les stratégies occidentales de gestion de l’offre devant de nouveaux défis. Le stockage et la diversification notamment acquièrent une nouvelle dimension.
The changing face of Asia and its impact on global supply chains
The major shift in the global economy towards Asia will continue to pick up speed in the coming years,
with both growth slowdowns and structural weaknesses in the western industrial economies and the
quantum leaps being made by the emerging Asian powers in macroeconomics and regulatory governance as contributing factors.
Under the influence of Confucianism, the economic regimes in east Asia tend to be mercantile and
state-oriented. A concept which stands in direct opposition to the idea of free trade, focusing instead on
the accumulation of wealth and resources. State control of commodities, trade routes and energy
sources is prevalent. All of which presents western strategies of supply chain management with new
challenges. Supply inventories and diversification, among other things, will be given new emphasis.
