What to Consider when Selecting
Your Contractor for Your
Home Modifications for Accessibility
Selecting the most suitable contractor for your needs is your responsibility.
In order to select the most suitable contractor for you, you may want to
interview and complete reference checks on all potential contractors.
Performing home modifications to make your home accessible and barrierfree is a specific skill and you should only select contractors that are
qualified. You may want to enquire about the contractor’s experience with
making a home accessible and/or you may choose to enquire through
friends/family regarding positive feedback about local contractors who
completed similar work as your required home modifications.

Le choix de l’entrepreneur qui répondra le mieux à vos besoins est votre
responsabilité. Pour choisir l’entrepreneur qui répondra le mieux à vos
besoins, vous voudrez peut-être recevoir en entrevue les entrepreneurs
disponibles et vérifier leurs références. La rénovation d’un domicile afin de le
rendre plus accessible et sans obstacles est un domaine d’expertise
particulier, donc vous devriez choisir un entrepreneur qualifié dans ce
domaine. Vous voudrez peut-être vous informer au sujet de l’expérience de
l’entrepreneur dans le domaine de l’amélioration de l’accessibilité des
domiciles et/ou vous informer auprès d’amis ou de membres de votre famille
pour trouver un entrepreneur qui a réalisé des travaux semblables à ceux
