ROYAL STAR FOODS - TIGNISH FISHERIES
The hours of operation for the Fishmart are Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, from
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We have oysters, mussels, quahogs,
fresh frozen bar clams, and fresh fish. We have live lobsters for the month of August.

BENEFIT - GALLANT
Benefit night for Wayne (Gaytenne) Gallant of Miminegash, on Sunday, August 11th, beginning at 7:00
p.m. at the Palmer Road Community Center. Wayne is unable to work and has made over 30 trips to
Summerside, Charlottetown, and Halifax over the past year and has been on numerous medications which
have been very costly for him as well. He recently had surgery in Halifax and will have to travel back to
Halifax for follow-up appointments. There will be local talent (Bruce & Robert Jones, Linda Costain &
Girls, Clint Doucette, etc.) as well as an auction and 50/50 draw. Please come out and show your support
for Wayne.

La Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel est heureuse d’annoncer sa
série estivale de spectacles musicaux à la salle paroissiale de Mont-Carmel à tous les dimanches

THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel will be presenting their summer
series of concerts at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, every Sunday evening until August 25th.
Entertainment for Sunday, August 11th, will be Julien Robichaud, Debbie Rousselle-Montgomery and
Stéphane Bouchard, Fraser McCallum, Louise Arsenault and members of the Joe Narcisse family, Robyn
Gallant, and the group Les Jeunes danseuses acadiennes (Alice Arsenault, Sandy Gallant, Monique
Gallant, Rachelle Gallant et Linda Richards). Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for students, and free for preschoolers. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and show starts at 7:00 p.m.
ST. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
 The 14th Annual Gerard Gallant Memorial in aid of the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be held on
Sunday, August 18th. Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. (Note date and time change). Four person best
ball. There will be prizes for the longest drive and the closest to pin, as well as a $10,000 hole-in-one
prize! Barbeque, draws, and 50/50 to follow. First 72 names accepted. Sign up your team or as a

 Women’s Night continues on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Men’s Night on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. On
Monday, August 19th, Mark Roberts will give a half-hour of free instructions at 6:00 p.m. before play
begins. It was cancelled again last week due to rain; this will be his last week.
 Members are reminded to have scores updated in computer for the Club Championship to be held on
Sunday, September 8th. First round beginning at 9:00 a.m., then followed by 2nd round.

TUESDAY TALK (IN ENGLISH) WITH THREE ACADIAN GENEALOGY ENTHUSIASTS
The last Tuesday Talk titled “The Fascinating World of Acadian Genealogy” will be held, in English, at the
Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, on August 13th, at 7:30 p.m. The talk will feature a round table with the
genealogy enthusiasts Claude Arsenault of Birch Hill, Theresa Gallant of North Rustico, and James Perry
of Summerside. They will share their experiences in researching their Acadian family trees. Admission is
free; donations appreciated.
VENEZ CÉLÉBRER LE 15 AOÛT AU MUSÉE ACADIEN
À l’occasion de la fête nationale de l’Acadie, le Musée acadien, à Miscouche, vous invite à une activité
portes ouvertes le jeudi 15 août, de 13 h 00 à 16 h 00. Il y aura une visite guidée de la merveilleuse
exposition photographique « Les hommes acadiens de l’Île » avec l’historien Georges Arsenault. Il
racontera les petites histoires de quelques-unes des photos. La tournée sera en français à 14 h 00 et en
anglais à 15 h 00. Rafraîchissements. L’entrée est gratuite.
COME CELEBRATE AUGUST 15th AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM
On the occasion of Acadian National Feast Day, the Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, invites you to an
open house activity on Thursday, August 15th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a guided visit of
the wonderful photographic exhibition "Island Acadian Men” with historian Georges Arsenault. He will tell
stories about several of the photos. The tour will be in French at 2:00 p.m. and in English at 3:00 p.m.
Refreshments. Admission is free.

MOTORCYCLE RUN
There will be a Motorcycle Run in aid of the Tignish Health Centre and MADD (Mothers Against Drunk
Drivers) on Sunday, August 18th. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the Run starting at 1:00
p.m. from the Alberton Rink. The Run will end at the Tignish Health Centre with a barbeque to follow.

50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - ELLSWORTH

BENEFIT - ARSENAULT
There will be a benefit for Gary Arsenault (Mosey), husband to Marilee Arsenault of Waterford, at the
Tignish Legion on Sunday, August 18th, at 7:30 p.m. Gary was diagnosis with Amyloidosis and Multiple
Myeloma in July of 2012. He will be receiving a stem cell transplant starting August 26th and is required to
be in Halifax for two months, which his wife will be by his side during this time. There will be auction, silent
auction, 50/50 tickets, lottery, fudge sale, canteen services, and lots of music. Please come show your
support.

KIDS OF STEEL TRIATHLON CAMP
A Kids of Steel Triathlon Camp is being offered at Mill River Aquaplex from Monday, August 26th, to
Thursday, August 29th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for children age 5 to 15. This program will
introduce children to the sport of triathlon (swim suit, bicycle, helmet, and sneakers are required) and will
be followed by a mini-triathlon event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29th. Cost is $10.
