Wayne is unable to work and has made over 30 trips to Summerside, Charlottetown, and Halifax over the past year and has been on numerous medications which have been very costly for him as well. He recently had surgery in Halifax and will have to travel back to Halifax for follow-up appointments. THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel will be presenting their summer series of concerts at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, every Sunday evening until August 25th. FELIX GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB The 14th Annual Gerard Gallant Memorial in aid of the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be held on Sunday, August 18th. Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. (Note date and time change). TUESDAY TALK (IN ENGLISH) WITH THREE ACADIAN GENEALOGY ENTHUSIASTS The last Tuesday Talk titled “The Fascinating World of Acadian Genealogy” will be held, in English, at the Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, on August 13th, at 7:30 p.m. The talk will feature a round table with the genealogy enthusiasts Claude Arsenault of Birch Hill, Theresa Gallant of North Rustico, and James Perry of Summerside. They will share their experiences in researching their Acadian family trees. Admission is free; donations appreciated. Hope you can come out and support these two great causes! 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - ELLSWORTH Friends and family are invited to come celebrate the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Shirley and Dick Ellsworth”, at the home of Nicole and Mitch Illsley, located at 40 Dunbar Road, in Alma, on Sunday, August 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. BENEFIT - ARSENAULT There will be a benefit for Gary Arsenault (Mosey), husband to Marilee Arsenault of Waterford, at the Tignish Legion on Sunday, August 18th, at 7:30 p.m. Gary was diagnosis with Amyloidosis and Multiple Myeloma in July of 2012. He will be receiving a stem cell transplant starting August 26th and is required to be in Halifax for two months, which his wife will be by his side during this time. There will be auction, silent auction, 50/50 tickets, lottery, fudge sale, canteen services, and lots of music. Please come show your support. This program will introduce children to the sport of triathlon (swim suit, bicycle, helmet, and sneakers are required) and will be followed by a mini-triathlon event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29th.
