Le vendredi 07 août 2015, M. Lucien Carama, Directeur Général
de la Loterie Nationale Burkinabè (LONAB) a effectué une visite
de terrain à Yaoghin (un des villages d’intervention du
programme USAID WA-WASH), dans la commune de KomkiIpala. Dans l’après-midi, il a rencontré les étudiants bénéficiaires
du programme de bourses d’études au siège de la LONAB. Ces
activités ont permis à M. Carama d’apprécier les avantages des
activités cofinancées par l’USAID WA-WASH et la LONAB.
On Friday, August 7, 2015, Mr. Lucien Carama, General Director of
the National Lottery of Burkina Faso (LONAB) conducted a field visit
to Yaoghin (one of the intervention villages of the USAID WA-WASH
Program), in the commune of Komki-Ipala. In the afternoon, he met
with beneficiary students of the scholarship program at the head
quarters of LONAB. These activities allowed Mr. Carama to
appreciate the results of the activities cofunded by USAID WAWASH and LONAB.
Les activités mises en œuvre à Yaoghin comprennent la
promotion de comprimés Aquatabs pour le traitement de l’eau de
boisson et la construction de latrines pour un abandon de la
pratique de la défécation à l’air libre.
The activities conducted in Yaoghin include Aquatabs promotion to
treat drinking water and the construction of latrines to eradicate the
practice of open defecation.
Arrivé dans la matinée à Komki-Ipala, M. Carama, accompagné du
Directeur Régional de l’USAID WA-WASH, a d’abord été accueilli
par Mme. Salamata Pitroipa, Présidente de la délégation spéciale
de cette commune. il a ensuite visité la boutique de M. Benoît
Koala, un des dix points de vente de comprimés Aquatabs dans le
village de Yaoghin. A ce point de vente, le Directeur Général de la
LONAB s’est imprégné du mode d’utilisation et de l’avantage pour
les populations d’utiliser Aquatabs pour traiter leur eau de
boisson. Puis, il s’est rendu chez M. Moussa Compaoré, un des
bénéficiaires des 53 latrines subventionnées par l’USAID WAWASH et la LONAB et un utilisateur d’Aquatabs. A l’instar de la
famille de M. Compaoré, M. Carama a apprécié les changements
qualitatifs apportés dans les conditions de vie des bénéficiaires du
partenariat entre l’USAID WA-WASH et la LONAB. «Actuellement,
nous avons arrêté de nous soulager dans la nature et notre
environnement immédiat est plus propre qu’avant. Aussi, comme
nous utilisons Aquatabs, notre eau de boisson est propre et nos
enfants ne contractent plus de maux de ventre ou de diarrhée»,
affirme M. Compaoré.
Mr. Carama, accompanied by the USAID WA-WASH Regional
Director, arrived in the morning at Komki-Ipala and was first
welcomed by Mrs. Salamata Pitroipa, the President of the Special
Delegation of this commune. After the reception, Mr. Carama visited
the shop of Mr. Benoît Koala, one of the ten Aquatabs sale points in
the village of Yaoghin. At this sale point, the General Director of
LONAB learned the mode of use and the advantages of using
Aquatabs for the treatment of drinking water by the population.
Then, he visited the home of Moussa Compaoré, one of the
beneficiaries of 53 latrines subsidized by USAID WA-WASH and
LONAB and a user of Aquatabs. Like the family of Mr. Compaoré, Mr.
Carama appreciated the qualitative changes in the living conditions
of the beneficiaries of the partnership between USAID WA-WASH
and LONAB. "Currently, we stopped open defecation and our
immediate environment is cleaner than before. Also, as we use
Aquatabs, our drinking water is clean and our children will no more
contract stomach aches or diarrhea. " says Mr. Compaoré.
Dans l’après-midi, une rencontre entre l’USAID WA-WASH et la
LONAB avec les étudiants bénéficiaires des bourses d'études a
permis à certains étudiants bénéficiaires de présenter les résultats
de leurs recherches. M. Carama s’est réjoui de la bonne conduite
des activités et des avantages que les populations tirent du
partenariat entre l’USAID WA-WASH et la LONAB. Quant à Dr.
Lakhdar Boukerrou, il a remercié la LONAB pour la confiance
placée en l’USAID WA-WASH et a souhaité que ce bel exemple de
partenariat gagnant-gagnant inspire d’autres partenaires
techniques et financiers pour le bien-être des populations rurales
et urbaines du Burkina Faso et d’ailleurs.
In the afternoon, a meeting between USAID WA-WASH and LONAB
with scholarships recipients allowed some of the beneficiary students
to present the results of their research. Mr. Carama welcomed the
smooth conduct of the activities and benefits that people derive from
the partnership between USAID WA-WASH and LONAB. As for Dr.
Lakhdar Boukerrou, he thanked LONAB for its confidence in USAID
WA-WASH and wished that this good example of win-win partnership
inspires other technical and financial partners for the well-being of
the rural and urban populations of Burkina Faso and elsewhere.
