Avec les récents costumes du carnaval d’Alost et des arts martiaux
traditionnels japonais ou encore celui de Saint-Nicolas, la garde-robe
de Manneken-Pis compte aujourd’hui plus de 760 costumes de toutes
origines. Cette collection nécessitait un nouvel aménagement, à la
mesure de la générosité des associations donatrices et de la popularité du personnage. Les visiteurs trouveront les réponses à leurs questions sur cette célébrissime fontaine.
Le nouvel aménagement de la salle permet aussi la présentation d’un
plus grand nombre de costumes qu’auparavant. Une borne multimédia
propose en outre aux visiteurs de consulter la totalité de la garde-robe
du célèbre ketje.

Momenteel telt de garderobe van Manneken-Pis meer dan 760 verschillende kostuumpjes, het nieuwste carnavalkostuumpje van Aalst,
het kostuum van de traditionele Japanse gevechtsporten en dat van
Sint-Niklaas meegerekend. Dat deze collectie gestadig uitbreidt, komt
door de vrijgevigheid van de schenkende verenigingen en door de
populariteit van het kleine ventje. Tijd om zijn “kleedkamer” opnieuw in
te richten.
De bezoeker zal antwoord vinden op vragen over deze wereldwijd
vermaarde fontein.Tot ieders genoegen kunnen ook in de zaal, met
zijn nieuwe inrichting, heel wat meer kostuumpjes getoond worden. Op
een multimedia-post kan de bezoeker de volledige garderobe van het
beroemde ketje bekijken.

This statue of a little boy in a somewhat compromising position has
since several centuries been a major tourist attraction in the city.
When most people see our 'manneken', the first reaction is always one
of amazement: "Look, how small he is ! Why does everybody want to
see him ?" The people of Brussels, however, accept him the way he is.
After all, it doesn't always have to be big to be beautiful. Imagine he
would be the size of the Statue of Liberty : Brussels would be continuously flooded !

are all preserved in the King's House, or City Museum at the GrandPlace, the central market square of the city.
